Isnt the NEC e616 the phone that had loads of problems and they brought out the E616v to combat these problems. My daughter got a E616V on the three network last year and it has been perfect so far.

No, it was the 616 which was the poorer phone and the E616 was the "fix" phone. I've had the 616 for 3 months and it's OK but there's no 3G coverage in my village, so at home we only have 2 1/2G.

If you are cancelling an existing (cpw) contract and wish to port the old number, is this possible, if so how does one do this before or after ordering online?etc?

Its regardless of who the phone was purchased from and is to do with your service provider. I got another Nokia 7600 on 3 before Christmas and at the same time requested a port out code from 02 (who my old phone was with). I had to use a new number on the 3 mobile for 7 days while they ported my number across from 02, then the number I had received from 3 was scrapped and I just continued using my old 02 number with no change in service.

Oh and I got told you can't port a number on the same network i.e. if your old number was on 3 then they say they can't transfer it to a new 3 contract!

Did you do the porting after or before you ordered your new phone?
