Smartphone/internet access charges
Options
Just wanted to see if this is a well-known thing or if I am in some kind of lucky glitch situation which I shouldn't disturb... I've been with O2 on contracts for years and years, last couple years I've had phones with WAP, email, and more recently a proper smartphone with Internet Explorer and MSN Messenger etc. This is all fine and good, I am a net junkie - but what confuses me is that I seem never ever to be charged for my net access, even when overseas and so on.
Is this a known O2 power? Or am I special? I've been afraid to ask too closely in case it rocks the boat...

The contract I took out last week shows 100kb, not 1meg (I think that this is standard on o2).
There was a period when many were getting GPRS free on o2, but then last year they changed the system and suddenly a number of us were hit with bills (fortunately mine was only around £30 but some had bills for hundreds of pounds). Not sure if it may be something to do with your settings - don't change them but please do share if you can as you may have something different to the standard settings(or just lucky  !).

Shhhh! I had this with O2 whilst on contract, never got charged in 2 years. Very useful when we moved into our new house, as we had no phone line or internet for 3 weeks.
Lost it tho when I moved to O2 PAYG, which has now restricted access to the internet. So I am looking for a new PAYG provider.0 -
The 02 tariffs page says 1 meg ?

Apologies - the difference appears to be between o2 online and o2 High Street tariffs - the former is 1MB, the latter (which most retailers use) is 100KB.
In either case, it is next to useless as an allowance in my opinion as it is much too low.
