Or am I hoping it is not.
OK I advertised on gum tree as a care worker, have some spaces through out my day. I got a few replies, one which was nothing to do with my add (please see message they sent).
I of course replied, yes please send me more details. They then replied:
I replied with my email address (One I use for junk), mobile number (spare phone) and fake address. Then they replied:
I never responded, just let it go over my head, thinking hmmmm, I googled the company (comes up as an art website). I then get a text message today, that I will be receiving payments from one of their clients tomorrow, kindly reply if still interested, from Aliensphere. I googled the mobile number and this site came up : http://mynumbersphone.com/07915717584.html (their number was generated by a seed?)
So I thought I would email them:
Hi
I have been to the website and I do not understand what your company does. Please can you explain to me. If this is a scam please don't respond.
Thank you
And received a reply:

Nor do I. And I am not even pregnant, just have a foggy brain. Don't know what to say/do next. Last thing I need is a criminal record..0 -
its a scam !!!!!!
they send you the cheques , you cash them and send them the money.
cheques then bounce and you are out of pocket . wouldnt touch with barge pole .0 -
From my understanding, they asked me to pay cheque into their account, or is it into my account?
They expect me to pay into my account, when it's cashed to forward them the cash minus 10%? Then after a mnth or so the cheque bounces? Is that how they work?
Why ain't google showing anything?
OMG This is terrible, can't believe my blonde brain is even questioning this.. DUH0 -
ignore it thats what yo do next - why did you ever reply?People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Of course it's a scam.
What legitimate employer sends an email starting "Good Morning Dear"? What employer sends out supposedly professional employment emails with terrible use of language? What employer writes back saying 'congratulations you are now employed'?? Of course it's a scam!
Genuinely puzzled as to why anyone would think otherwise...?
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
Thats how all companies work isn't it. Give a job to a complete stranger, give them cheques worth tens of thousands of pounds, and hope they give you the cash back.
Few weeks/months down the line the cheques are reported stolen, the poor sucker (you) are left explaining to the police what an !!!! you've been.
Its either money laundering or a straight fraud against you, either way you lose.0
