I am pleased I paid off the Very loan with some of the money I had saved this month.
Thanks for cheering us up anyway...:beer:0 -
What a bizarre thread.....I still have no idea what the whole thing was all about but I'm glad laurabell is happy now on whatever planet she's currently on.
This was another one of those threads where information was like getting blood from a stone, nothing sounds "quite right" and it all turns out ok.

You lot are hilarious! I came on to a loan board saying I'd been refused a loan and could anyone reccomend where I could turn next? It's that simple.
As it turns out, educated or experienced advice would have been for me to contact my bank. End of.
No humour in that (at least I don't find people struggling with money problems and severe stress funny) just a person reaching out for some advice.
Ach well, good luck to you all.0 -
You can get a Sainsbury's loan without a Nectar card. But you're all sorted now, so good for you!0

Wow. What a crazy situation, hope it all turns out ok for you Laura and hope we don't see you on the 'Debt Free Wannabe' board sometime soon when it all comes crashing down. Sorry that you have had bad experience with the responses on here, but it did get a bit confusing as to what you were asking at times. Debt consolidation only works for a very small percentage of people so I hope that now you have got what you wanted, everything turns out ok and you're not back at square one with double the debt. xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0

30K and debt. Don't flatter yourself.0 -
Thanks jon and rdchick.
bravehearted my basic salary is 30k and I earn approximately another 20k on top of that a year. I have 4k debt to my name.
I'm okay, thank you.0 -

I couldn't get a Zopa loan no (nor a Sainsburys one as you have to have a nectar card to apply which I didn't realise), but I got one from my bank who see me pay in a decent wage every month and keep a tidy account, I have no adverse debt. This was obviously the route to take.
Good supportive advice would have been: "Try your bank, if you have kept a good account with them then they may be more likely to lend you the money than Zopa or the like"
But no, a load of smug twattery instead and then cries of "ha-ha right you did, love" when I've sorted myself out... What a lovely bunch of people you all are.
The problem is, Laura, that you’ve come onto a public forum and spilled some fairly personal details that appear to be bizarre on paper.
You probably didn’t intend for your situation to come across as bizarre, but unfortunately it does. Your OP and subsequent posts go far beyond fielding for advice on how to get a loan/credit card, and get progressively more personal and complex.
Anyway, glad you’ve got it sorted – good luck.======================================
