    No.

Having 7 years NCB is immaterial when you are being added as a named driver. (NCB is only of use when buying your own policy!)

Adding a male driver as a named driver onto a mature female's policy will usually result in a premium increase!

though insurers now have to quote equally for male to female and female to male policies as they cant use the gender card to quote with?

Doesn't come into force until the end of the year.

Does that mean that women who are up for renewal this month should be getting 10 month policies so they can renew in December and still get the lower rate?

The OP has already stated it's not a motability car. It's privately owned, but is disabled tax class.

Technically fivetide is correct, if it's a disabled tax class then the car should be used for the benefit of the disabled person. In practice nothing will happen and it's almost impossible to prove, especially if you act as a carer for the disabled person.

OP: If you're on long term sick, do you qualify as disabled. Can you claim DLA? This would solve the problem completely.

lve just applied for dla and awaiting a decision , but thank you for your point which l had,nt thought of in that way thanks

    Whoa!

As much as adding you to the insurance is fine. She gets the car tax free because it is to help her get about.

It isn't for you to run about in/use the tax sadly. You will probably get away with it but technically if you are using it for your benefit and not hers, the car should be taxed properly (happy to be corrected but that's how I understand it. It's the reason me and the mrs have different cars as we're in the same situation).

    5t.
thanks fivetide l see your point and agree with you completely
