Hello,
Could you please share your experience of your holidays in fuerteventura. Me and my husband are looking at going for 2 weeks all inclusive in July.
This would be the first time all Inclusive and first time for 2 whole weeks away from work.
We was having trouble finding somewhere fairly cheap to travel too, even though we are a young married couple we didnt want over the top in your face loudness places like Ibiza, Malaga etc offers (Been there done all that) and this was the one place we kept coming back too when looking at all the other countries.
Where is the best area to stay? Have you been over to Lobos island? Trips to other local island?
Just looking for some personal experiences or reconmendations of the island
Thank You

I've been twice to Fuerteventura in the last year, first trip was 10 days in Fuerteventura & Lanzarote last June, second one was last month for a short 4-day break away from the cold!
I love the island and now it's one of my favourite places to go on holiday. Both times we stayed in Corralejo (north), which is the most lively town (still very quiet compared to Benidorm,Ibiza,Malaga, etc).
We never go all inclusive as we like to explore the different restaurants (lots of them, very cheap & good food). I would only consider all inclusive if it was top quality, and this would be too expensive (there aren't any 5-star resorts in the island). I would recommend the Playa Park Club apartments, clean & comfortable, about 15 min walk from the town centre/beaches.
We didn't go to Lobos (maybe next time), but the trip to Lanzarote is only 30 min on the ferry and it's worth it. Lanzarote has a lot to see, there are plenty of organised trips, or it's easy to take a hired car on the ferry too. The roads in the island are new and quiet, they don't know about traffic jams, driving is a pleasure compared to the UK!!!
Any questions you have just ask, I will try to help.0 -
Hello,
Thank you for your quick response, Corralejo is the area we have mainly been looking at.
The only reason I was looking at all inclusive was my husband is a fussy eater so we was thinking that if we went this way firstly it means I can have a choice where he can stick to his safe foods instead of walking around endless places to eat trying to find something he wants to eat (Typical English food for him) where I dont mind trying new foods also it would means that we dont have to worry making sure we have extra money for food just spending money and the odd meal out. We dont tend to eat lunch while we are somewhere warm just a big breakfast and dinner.0 -

Sorry to hijack your thread Lindy:o but Alisha, can I ask what month during the winter were you in Fuerteventura?
I want to go in March but really want it to be warm enough to sit out in the sun and read a book:o0 -
Fuerteventura is around 20-25 degrees all year round, a bit warmer during June-July-August, so any month is good to sit in the sun. I went there in June (too hot as we got a heat wave..) and end of January (18-22 degrees, sunny all day). It can get a bit windy sometimes, but I didn't find it unconfortable.
lindy, I suggest you read some of the reviews @ tripadvisor, they are very complete and maybe you can get an idea about all inclusive. When going for a walk we saw a hotel called "Barcelo Corralejo Bay", the spot is perfect and it looked really nice, maybe you could take a look at that one. (might be expensive though...). We personally prefer an apartment where we can cook ourselves, and then go out a few nights to good restaurants, but I understand food is a very personal thing.
Playa Park Club does all inclusive, but I can't comment on the food as we didn't try it. We did breakfast one day, but found it a bit poor (didn't have a cooked breakfast, just the cold buffet). The menus they advertised for dinners didn't look too bad though. (all of this considering the price..)0 -
We have been many times to fuerteventura & the area we most like is a place called ( EL cotillo) the beach there is amazing ,LOOK read reviews on Trip advisor .0

We too stayed at the Playa Park Club! The apartments were fab, great for a base. We ate in the restaurant once but didn't really enjoy it and the service wasn't pleasant. It's cheap enough to eat out in the town as we every other night. Loads to choose from and no end of English places. My favourites were the Wakiki bar and the steakhouse across the road from the Wakiki bar (can't remember the name!) Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0

If anyone decides to book Playa Park I suggest doing it directly with them.. last trip we booked with Alpharooms and when we arrived they told us there was overbooking and sent us to another complex that we didn't like.. so be careful.
There are lots of private rentals too @ Homelidays, for our next trip we will do this, as I think it works much better for us than the complex... (we don't want any entertaining, bars or food..)0 -
Hi, I would have to echo another poster's comments re: all inclusive at FV. To be honest, there are so many lovely places to eat that really the additional monies you would spend on AI, IMHO you could have a much nicer holiday for a better price! Check out trip advisor and the restaurants to choose from.
I go to FV regulalry as we have a place there (Las Fuentes, Corralejo). It is a much calmer and laid back place than most people realise (as most associate the canaries with Tenerife).
My mum did the scuba trip to Lobos last year and she loved it. We did the jeep safari which was fab. But to be honest, FV is a place where you just kick back. If you can be bothered to hire a car you will be rewarded with great days out and plenty to see - just driving around is a joy as the roads are not manic and like anything else in FV is just so laid back. There are so many beaches to explore, you just need to pack yourself a picnic bag and a beach towel and get going!
I went to FV 4 times last year and I have already booked again for this year. The most wonderful thing about FV is that you actually feel you can switch off - it's not all this hectic lifestyle and rushing to clubs/pubs and looking fancy. If this is your first time with 2 weeks away from work, you will adore the proper break you will get.
FV is a love it or hate it island - most people love the tranquility - young and old and many people return several times a year, time and time again as there are so few places left like FV IMHO
It is warm all year round. We were out there Feb last year and as I sit here now wrapped in my cardigan, heating on full and snow frozen to my windows I can tell you where I wish I was right now!! I was also there in Nov/ Dec 11 and the weather was lovely - not as hot as in Feb, but still sunbathing weather.
Anyway I have rambled enough. It would be lovely to welcome you to FV - and I really hope you love it and return time and time again0 -
I agree with the above, I really enjoyed it there. It's easy to do as much, or as little as you want. Best of both worlds! I didn't find out they did the trips to Lobos until the last day so that will be on my agenda next time! Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0

We stayed at the Hotel Suite Atlantis Fuerteventura Resort, Corralejo a couple of years ago. That was all inclusive. We only stayed for a week & the food got boring after a few days. Couldn't imagine going all inclusive for 2 weeks.COMP WINS FOR HUBBY & I SINCE SEPTEMBER:2 £50 DOMINOS VOUCHERS, 13 PAIRS OF FOOTBALL TICKETS, MICROSOFT HOME EDTN, 2 PAIRS OF ALTON TOWERS TICKETS, 1 CASE OF PERCY PIGS, 1 PAIR OF LEATHER LADIES GLOVES, 4 COLLECTION 2000 PRODUCTS, PLAYSTATION 3 WITH FIFA 12, 5* HOTEL STAY IN LONDON, SEASON 6 OF SUPERNATURAL DVD, PERFECT PIZZA VOUCHER0
