Meant to update - phoned Virgin and am getting the landline service switched from BT to them , and so are giving me landline, unlimtted calls and broadband for £20 then £25 after 6 months - ok might have got a better deal but I'm happy enough (they are also throwing in a free wireless router) . So the morale is definitely if you are thinking of switching always try phoning first to see what sort of deal you can get. Thanks again to all the responders.
