Slow Talktalk

At present, I'm suffering slow speed on Talktalks BB. I have D.L. speeds of approx 3.5mbps and streaming of .5mbps - this makes BBC Iplayer and other tvcatchups near unuseable.
I've contacted Talktalk forum and have been told "I am sorry, I'm afraid its not good news - We have had confirmation from our Ops team that, because your telephone number wasn't originally a BT number, we can't migrate you to our LLU service"
I found this website - UKphoneinfo.com which stated: "Oftel records show that numbers starting (my home number) are allocated to Virgin Media Limited. Note that due to number portability if an individual number has moved to a different operator this information is not publicly available.
Oftel's last recorded change for this number range was September 1996".
Although I pay line rental to TT and their offshoot company Opal Telecom is my ISP, how can I improve my BB speeds? I thinks changing ISPs is going to be an expletive!!

Did you read the OP, Mark? :T0 -
talk talk customer service in my humble opinion is far from acceptable.
I have many issues with them and trying to log on to their FORUM is not possible if you have an AOL account!!!0 -
Hi
@Bod - Yes, However jsut becasue we cant migrate the custoemr to LLU doesnt mean we cannot assist further with their speed issues.
LLU isnt the only answer. We can conduct an SNR reset for IPstream custoemrs which can increase speed. We can also invesitgate any potential faults on the line.
The purpose of my post is to reaffirm that to support such matters we would need to do so either via the members forum or twitter.

Mark
