He certainly has addressed this with some vigour so I take it he's not a Tory, lol. But a little naivete in assuming the BPA is a reputable organisation (perhaps he doesn't realise it has no basis other than to promote the scam?) and in talking to Excel as if they were honest and will listen to what he says.

Someone needs to put him right as to the legal issue that the charge is unlawful and unenforceable. Is he your M.P., Taffy?

How times fly. When I was a kid that area had the fire station and scout hut with a road down to Victoria. And of course the train track from the high level rail station in the centre of town (next to James St)

Nope I live in Swansea, but I saw the xRay programme yesterday and had a look around the net for it
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

You are right andy , why the hell don't they research this scam, watchdog has the right idea with this. But getting this bumped up is what intend to do, Excel Parking Ebbw Vale are scammers ;) a fact noted by all of us here

Only BBC Wales could decide to produce a consumer affairs programme and get the two blandest presenters in the country to host it. I suspect the Excel Parking Ebbw Vale would be quaking in their boots at the prospect of Anne Robinson chasing after them but Lucy and Rhodri? The whole programme is a complete waste of space to be quite honest.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

Yeah husband and wife team I think, but prefer the ferret with that fat bloke to be honest, though can't remember them doing anything on parking. What I find a little disturbing is that xray is from the BBC and Watchdog are too, why can't they research it little, I mean they don't have to go far.

I have read the MP's letters and my thoughts are, he is playing advocate.
As an MP he will already have several business interests and be very business savy, any bussines man knows what a company can and can not charge for, he will know that contractual penalties are unlawful, therfore I feel his letters are more aimed at enforcing the PPC's position than representing its victims, the wording of his letters is carefully managed and he gets as many punts at calling them fines and penalties as possible without ever calling in to question the legitimacy of them.
we must remember there is a lot of free money sloshing around here, millions and millions of pounds.
    trust no-one.

My mother, who is in her early 80s, copped a ticket in this car park last year. A particularly nasty feature in this case is that the car park used to be free for disabled badge holders but when Excel took over they started charging - neglecting to publicise the change.
On my advice she has completely ignored Excel's scam mail and advised others to do the same - unfortunately at least one person coughed up despite Mum's warnings.
Not all elderly people are as strong-minded as she is, obviously.
She recently got her first Roxburghe begging letter - with all the guff about not trusting internet forums, civil procedural rules 31.16 etc. etc.
She will continue to ignore. Part of me would love to go to court with this one - it would be very embarrassing for Excel!

Anyway - many thanks to this forum for the good advice to ignore the scammers.

btw - Roxburghe have a new address in Croydon, is the forum aware of it?

He's Labour, not one of those part-time Tory M.P.s! and having looked, I cannot see that he has any business interests which would distract him from his job- if I am wrong then point it out, but we cannot tar all with the same brush. Also unlike many M.P.s he isn't a lawyer so may not have picked up on this point.

Are you referring to Kings Parade by any chance?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
