Hi, for some reason MSE will not let me post with quotes. Re: US shopping for nail lacquer not sure which part of the States you ladies are visiting but if you look out for an ULTA store you will find an assortment of brands. ULTA is like our Boots but only sells cosmetics. Last time we visited in October 2011 (Orlando) they were stocking Essie, Orly, China Glaze, Sally Hansen and OPI. There is usually a 3 for 2 offer on one of the ranges. It was Essie at the time I was there and I bought three top coats because there were specific OPI colours that I wanted.
Also, if you go supermarket shopping OPI can be found in some supermarkets - remember seeing it in Publix. Walmart stocks Nicole by OPI and Walgreens (pharmacy) stocks Essie.
I saw some reduced lines in ULTA but they were colours from the OPI Shrek range that I had not liked but you never know you may see something. ULTA also get OPI Exclusives and carry their own range of lacquers.
Sephora would be the other choice for nail lacquers and they have a range called Sephora by OPI although these bottles are dearer than OPI.
Other places to try are Express Beauty (I picked up some of the muppet colours as soon as they were released from there) and Trade Secret. These stores can be found at outlets. HTHBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Had a terrible day today
But it is almost over, thankfully.
Yesterday I had three of the sally hansen sets from poundland, a bright red, a bright blue and a hard as nail wraps in scarlet. Then I has a pale lemon shimmer from Revlon out of pound world, also from there a bright orange revlon and a green.
Then Sallys beauty.. I has an opi muppets set including tow seperators, it was the pepe's one and Divine Swine for 5.50 and a china glaze midtown mall which is so dark brown it is almost black with tiny brown sparkles.
What I want, what I really really want is models own emerald black. But I am yet to see it anywhere0 -
I've become a Poundland hawk recently - I try and check everytime I walkpast as they've had some super bargains.
Currently wearing a Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps (I forget the name) is aCorally shimmer finish. Pure eighties) especially considering it came in athree pack with a pink gloss and a heather shimmer esqe lippy) but I bought itto try the formula.
I went on really easy - quick drying and glossy with no brush marks despitebeing a shimmer. Looks really nice and neat but unfortunately colour isn't outthere enough for me.
My only polish in today is Rimmel Disco Ball - was queuing up in Savers andthe sparklyness caught my eye. Should look nice layer over blues and blacks.

Hope your afternoon/evening gets better Lady S - just googled Models OwnEmerald Black. Very nice but I’m sure I have a similar one?
Ohh forgot to say... put everything into my Helmer today and now can't stoplooking in all the drawers at the organisation.
I have filled it but I do have all my removers lying down in one drawer.
The top has a divider in (like a cutlery draw insert) and has my brushes, files and some treatments in.
Next draw down has all my topcoats and basecoats; any bottle shapedtreatments and my masses of oils. Until I did this wasn't aware of how manytopcoats I own. Only negative is that my HG everyday topcoat (Lumos) doesn'tfit standing up.
Next two drawers are full of polish bottles.
Fourth drawer is removers, cotton wool and quick dry spray.
Bottom drawer has another divider in and all my nail art bits, Konad platesand polishes, decals, stickers and glitter pots.
I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
Thanks VALM for suggestions . I visit Sephora wherever I see one in US . DH is very patient . Feel like I've died + gone to heaven in there ! We're driving from Washington DC to Savannah so sure to be many shopping opportunities !0

I have definately, and, rapidly become addicted to it myself
The crackles got me back into it, and it just happens that my nails are long enough to paint again.
I've bought a few (!) lately, but on Friday got a really nice clearish Glitter shade from Rimmel from Morrisons. I'm not sure what shade it is, as the cat has tempoarily relocated it -.- BUT on the way back home, after thinking about a base coat, I popped in boots, and ended up getting a Strengthning base coat, along with a baby blue Rimmel, and a Pink Crackle from Barry M. (three for two, so I just had to do it!)
I apply the night before, and usually by end of next day I have chips, however I used the base coat on this "batch" and we're now 3 days on, and they've not chipped, nor rubbed away at the nail tips. So it was base coat, then 1 coat of baby blue, then the pink crackle, then the glittery one. Lastly put on a top coat (usually use 7, but couldn't find it, guessing the cat again, so was a manky old rimmel one now tinted pink for some reason)
A bit more bling than I'd go for usually, but quite taken with it!
What are these plates that you all talk of? I also saw a matt top coat, and whilst I was tempted, can you really see the difference between matt and normal?
I never get a fantastic application, too much shakes in the left hand, applying on the right. But even with mass clean up the next day, it's done really well this batch.0 -
The plates are like little discs that have a pattern on, you paint the pattern with nail varnish, scrape off the excess and then transfer it from the plate to your nail with a rubber stamp. If you want to know more put Konad into you tube and there are video's.
I have the matte top coat and the difference is amazing. On friday I had black nail varnish on and put nubar lavender shimmer over the top which is the sparklyest top coat ever. After a coat of the matte stuff it was like I had lights embedded in my nails0 -

I painted on the gold, and only on one nail the first time, I waited 2-3 minutes and the effect wasn't there very well at all. So then doing a nail at a time again, I put on the gold, waited about a minute then painted on the croc effect. It can be too thin btw, so I did two thin coats, or one slightly thick coat. HTH!
Tygermoth That OPI is really very pretty!
Today's nails:MFW 2016 No 68 £1300/£8500 No new toiletries Cook sth different0 -
Decided to experiment today. I really want rainbow connection and the only place i can buy its £15. well over my budget esp as i have bought the NYC Opi set.
So was out at a party yesterday and i won a glitter prize.

What do you think? Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0 -
