Hi everyone,
Has anyone tried some of these gel nail varnishes that are supposed to last 3 weeks?
They do them in salons and I think you have to soak them off, but if you bought the whole kit I wonder how difficult it would be to actually do them yourself? Doable?
Given that salon charges £20+ for them (and that is just hands, no toes!) and to buy the lot would be £100 (plus the lamp lasts long time), we would possibly like to go halves with my friend...
I love polished nails, but vanish does not last long and I don't have that much time to keep renewing it every couple of days!!

Hi - yes I have got the kit from Boots - called Sensationail and was £85, but there is a voucher code for Boots if you google it for £6 off until Sunday. You get at least 10 manicures out of it so £7.90 is a lot cheaper than I have paid at the salon!
It was a doddle to do too:j
I got a couple of the other colours when I was in the US but they are coming to Boots.com next month anyway so I can stock up n a few more!!0 -
Hiya girls bit of help needed plz, I have watched several videos on marbling yet when I have a go it always clumps together when I put the cocktail stick through it to what am I doing wrong x
Paula - tTry it with gel polish - that doesn't dry until you cure so you have more time for marbling0 -

:jI have the serena gossip girl collection on from nails inc (otherwise known as 'old vic' but I think it would work better over a lighter shade
I was fancying that but just wanted the topcoat rather than the set. After a quick search for swatches on the internet I found people mentioning Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure which is a flakies top coat so I've just ordered it from ebay.1008 Hollywalk Park Blog0 -

favorites at the moment are the w7 planets range - lovely duochrome colours, and fairly cheap. £1.49 in b&m bargians - also seen them in next clearance. the venus is a purple blue mix - maybe a bit like fantasy fire??
They do look good on the swatches I've seen and bloggers seem pretty positive about the application too.1008 Hollywalk Park Blog0 -

Not all lamps are the same power so it depends on what power the lamp is v's what power those brands require. I have used a bog standard UV lamp from Tesco with CND UV top coat (although not the Shellac version) and it worked fine for me. I'm thinking of ordering some gels from ebay (aka Hong Kong) just for a play.1008 Hollywalk Park Blog0 -
Does anyone have China Glaze Ruby Pumps? I've been after it for a while but I don't know how easy it is to remove being a glitter. I normally put glitters over a peel-off to get around the chore or removing but being peel-off it can easily get pulled off before I want it too.1008 Hollywalk Park Blog0

I have Ruby Pumps, it is lovely, imho!. Last week I wore umpteen coats (I was away from home and needed something with some staying power) of OPI Save Me, this is massively more flaky than Ruby Pumps, and it came off a treat using the foil method. If I remember rightly this is linked on introductory post here. It was so good I removed my dark blue polish this way yesterday, no more blue cuticles and finger tips:jThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
