  • Hi All, need some Nail Envy advice... Heard good things about it on here and elsewhere, so bought a mini off ebay to see how I got on with it.

No problems for a couple of weeks (not sure if it was doing any good or not, but probably too soon to tell), but now when I have a bath, it develops a weird white streaky blotchy pattern. I'm having to take it off every time because it looks so horrible, so I'm never getting to more than a couple of coats.

So, anyone else had this? Am I doing something wrong? Does it just not suit me? Have I managed to pick up a fake?

Is it the normal or the matte?

I find the normal goes streaky sometimes; so i use the matte version I use it as a base coat so only ever use two layers.

How often do you paint it before you get in the bath? If you only do it a couple of hours before it may not of dried completely and be melting.

Thanks :) It's the normal one. I've been doing a coat in the evening after I've had a bath - so what's going streaky has been on for the best part of a day. I will be trying it as a base coat soon, but I've been avoiding polish and just using the nail envy as I need a bit of intensive tlc.

It works better for me as a base coat. I change my polish daily and use tho coats of matte, caping my free edge. When i used it on its on i used to pick it off.

Its ok, not the best ever but good value for the price. I have a few, the planets collection is nice.
Best value is from Nail Polish Direct £1.95 with free postage.

Thanks for the link, I am green with envy! So, is http://the-polished-perfectionist.blogspot.co.uk/ painting on her own nails or falsies ? Any ideas? they look so perfect I am wondering how on earth she does it on her own left hand so neat lol! And so neat around the cuticle with a white colour.?!

Also, is it just me or does anyone else hate chopping their own nails off, they take so long to grow, and when they break I fix them up as best I can (filing usually) but when they are just too long I am so reluctant to cut them!

I actually think short neat nails look lovely but like to wear mine quite long but having a baby and nappy changes is not a great combo with long nails lol. Do you use nail clippers or a file?

I find I file off too much and they are uneven when I am done so I go back and do a bit more and then they are too short. Nail clippers are easier but can make the corners a bit sharp.

So many questions but fellow nail appreciators, I know you'll understand! xxx:rotfl:
