I write a blog. Just for a bit of fun, mind. Vivatic are referring people to sponsoredreviews.com where you can supposedly get paid for reviews of a product. I've signed up on the site and it might be worth a look.

Don't expect to generate piles of cash but no harm in trying, right?

As someone who makes money blogging, one thing I recommend is that you realize that Ads mostly don't work.

If you put Adsense on then someone else is controlling the content on your site.

If you really want to make money from your site then either ask for donations (it will work a bit), or earn affiliate commissions.

Go through your posts and find out what you have written about that could earn you a commission (eg books, stuff people could find on eBay, the hosting service you use, the local businesses you deal with you can refer to, etc etc) If people like your blog it is how you can justify spending more time on it delivering great content!

Not only that but you will probably make more money anyway because your recommendations now flow honestly and directly from the content of the blog itself.

Oh, but make sure you have the Privacy sheet and Disclaimer so you are upfront about it all.

Personally I actively try to buy through people's affiliate links because I want reward people who give me great advice and encourage them to do more of it.

CarefulCash-I have a blog and have mentioned several products/companies in the past. How do you market the blog to these companies? Do you e mail them a link to your blog and offer to write a piece including a review of their product/service?

I have also followed ChennyM's advice and registered my blog with Sponsored Reviews. Has anyone earned money through them?

Well, I came across them on the Vivatic website (can make a few quid doing online surveys there), just followed the link and registered for the sake of it. Can't give my own opinion yet as my blog has only just been approved. ;)

Or alternatively have a look on google - I'm sure someone has reviewed the site and given their opinions.

If they have a referral / affiliate program already set up then it is easy. You can target your blogging to these type of programs. Anyone can recommend a great book that can be found on Amazon, or something they have bought online that was actually useful eg my review for the Automatic Backlink Creator plugin.

Also, Jimmy D. Brown's "How To Write A Review: Marketing Tips" article I put on my blog has some great pointers, including how to show honesty in a review, and to NOT do the selling.

I haven't done it where there is no affiliate system already in place, but as a general rule, always make it easy for them to say yes. So write the post BEFOREHAND so they know exactly what they are saying yes to. [And if they say no you are still doing your readers a great service by recommending quality stuff.]

After that it's all about getting qualified traffic to your review ... and that's a whole nother story entirely :)
