just started a blog, I'm a media student and need to get people to subscribe and comment on my posts.. could i ever get companies to pick me up to write for them such as magazines etc? i have a real interest in writing

Go to technorati and find the highest ranked blogs in your niche. Some will allow guest articles with a link back to your blog but the guest articles need to be of an extremely high quality to be accepted. I usually pay an expert writer about $25 - $30 for an article of this quality.

I haven't got a clue but would be interested to hear other people's suggestions. There's also quite a lot of info on the 'Blogging for a Second Income' thread on page 2 this board.

I think you need to try very hard these days in order to attract enough followers to get paid for your blogging.
One of the best ways it to make sure you write the odd controversial piece and make sure to add plenty of tags.

Using Twitter to tweet updates can be usefull in driving subscribers to your blog.
Be aware though that you may only end-up with 50 subscribers, but you may also have 50,000 followers who don't subscribe.

Btw, HubPages is worth a look as you can create 'micro blogs' about a whole range of set subjects.

You need to post on your blog every day. You need to write about topics that people want to read. People find you, and then follow because they are interested in what you have to say. You wont aquire followers untill you have invested considerable time in the design, layout, and content of your blog.

I have been blogging over three years, I have 365 followers, I don't make any money because it's just a hobby.

i don't see how people would find me since its a blog about my life, will be what i do at university as I'm a media student, and love for 70s music and comedies, can i put tags on my blog so people searching 1970's for example would maybe stumble across it?

Hi You could try blogger.com its simple to set up (if I can do it anyone can!) but thats as far as ive got hope this helps.

I have a free forum on the net. I dont make any money from it as i set it up on a free forum platform. They make money from the ads. What i was wondering is can write anywhere about it and make money or anything. I am on twitter and sometimes post links to the forum on twitter. That can bring guests in viewing but i havent found anything where i could make any money. Could i team up with anyone?
