My car died this weekend - can I claim off the credit card company?

            It really comes down to whether there was a breach of contract. If there was, then the CC could be held (jointly) liable.
 In the absence of other info, I agree with the comments above. But if the dealer offered any particular assurances/warranties/representations which were part of the agreement or induced you to buy the car, then you could have a claim. Of course evidence would be useful...0

            I know your input is correct, JumperJohn. I am not looking for positive responses to latch on to. I was offended by the tone of your response - a bit like the other one on this page from DaveBoy. I didn't know the rules about the time period where I could have made a claim.
 Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. I know a car is some peoples life line and when it breaks it can be quite traumatic. As suggested, I'm sure it can be fixed quite cheaply, you need to do a bit a googling for a reputable garage. Or do an autotrader search for a cheap car. I hope things work out.0
