In the UK? Or just England?

    Wales has free prescriptions...

    As does Scotland!

I suspected they did, but I wasn't sure and I couldn't be bothered googling, so I didn't mention Scotland as I don't like gobbing off about things I ain't sure about ;)

You won't last long on this board with that sort of sensible attitude :)

As do Scotland and Northern Ireland, which have been pointed out to milliemonster already - she hasn't been back to this thread to defend her ignorance about the rest of the UK. Or maybe she just thinks of the UK being England, and that the rest of us don't count.

As a 'qualified' nurse she should know Wales, Scotland and NI were free, maybe she is a qualified nursery nurse.

You'd have sat in pain for the sake of seven quid?

I suppose you think it's better to rip people off?

You have an interesting decision making process if you think it's better to sit in pain than to be conned out of £7.

And is that not a prescription?!
Depends on the strength. 8/500 co-codamol is available over the counter. 30/500 is prescription only.

Last time hubby ended up in A&E after an ambulance ride we didn't even go through the waiting room so I wouldn't have seen these signs. I wouldn't have known this was going to happen and unless the doctor/nurse directly told me I would be phoning to query this invoice too due to inadequate notice.

    Thanks OP for the warning!
