Are you suffering from concussion too, or it is just stupidity that prevents you reading and understanding the thread? It's already been stated that the OP doesn't have to pay due to their circumstances.

thats why i said if you are obliged to you imbecile.

The point is that it had already been stated in the thread that she was not obliged to, so your post, apart from being both rude and illiterate was also pointless.

If I was a doctor, I'd like to prescribe some chill pills for certain posters in this thread.:D

I didn't know about the charge for medicines (if you are not admitted) at the hospital A&E and I'm now better informed.;)

I had an accident recently and I could've gone to A&E but instead (as it was a minor injury), I went to the Health Centre.

The nurse did a brilliant job:A of patching me up and gave me paracetemols for the pain. If you need medical attention for a minor injury/accident...........I recommend the Health Centre.

    :T

We may not agree with eachother's points of view, and there may be occasions where some of us are better informed than others. But there is never a need to call any fellow poster "stupid" or "imbicilic" or to insult them personally in any way.

We're all contributing to an online thread about prescription charge confusion. Take a moment to laugh at how trivial that is before your next post

How do you find out whether an ambulance is free or if you're going to be charged? Is it judged on the severity of the injury or something?

I had a random one off tonic-clonic seizure a few years ago and my friend's called an ambulance for me as I was unconscious. I never got charged for that and would have been shocked if I had!

Its Road traffic accident only by the sounds of it and the insurance companies pay it anyway.

Although what I found out a couple of years ago was when you are in an NHS hospital and don't like the people you are forced to share a room with they will charge you if you request an ambulance to take you to a private hospital (About £150). On the plus side I didn't begrudge paying as its far better to be in a private room for a week, than being on a ward somewhere!

I thought that but someone earlier in the thread posted about someone getting charged after a golf related accident.

Perhaps you get charged if the accident was caused by some sort of negligence - although how that could be accurately determined I'm not sure.

None of it is very clear really, I know of someone who got smashed out of his face and ended up needing an ambulance but never got charged which I thought was odd.

I do think such rules need to be made plain and clear to everyone to save any shocks or confusion.
  • Exactly!, anyone who reside in the UK knows there is a prescription charge for medication!

In the UK? Or just England?

    Wales has free prescriptions...
