  • Hi - just a few answers to the points raised. We did take all the turkey back - including what we had already placed on our plates. The store just threw it in the bin. My partner cooked the chicken but she had a stinker of a cold and we'd gone to the pub! It was also cooked in an M&S bag. As to compensation a bottle of wine would have been nice - or a voucher - just to make up for a ruined Christmas Day meal. I'm so disappointed in them won't be shopping in their stores again. Thanks for all the comments - supportive or otherwise.

We had goose from there one year. That wasn't right either. Friends had the same one and theirs wasn't right either. We all got refunds. No other compo but then we didn't ask for it. I would never buy any Christmas meat from M&S now.
Don't grow up. Its a trap!

    Peace, love and labradors!
  • Our turkey was bad too this year, got it from a local butchers. They replaced it with meat to the value plus some extra for our trouble.

I think it must depend on the branch. My auntie took a turkey crown back this year because it was off, she got a refund and a £10 gift card.

M&S do seem to have more problems than other stores with their christmas meats.

Should have emailed the CEO and saved yourself postage costs ! Probably would have got a better result (but no worse) if you had done so !

I complained a few years ago via email to the M&S CEO with regards a M&S [STRIKE]yuk[/STRIKE]turkey and got a complete refund !

Now if only I could remember how to email the M&S CEO ;):) ?

So was it a turkey, or a chicken? Or a steaming pile of BS?

M&S refunded AND replaced - or in this instance, as they couldn't give you a replacement, gave you a cash alternative. You have received your compensation - feel free to put the refund towards that bottle of wine or gift voucher if it would make you feel better.
