Hi all,
Sounds like some are you are suffering with the bad weather, we are lucky doown south, so far, I hope you are all warm and safe xx
I,ve been having some internet connection problems and have been spending the past 2 weekends chatting to numerous AOL bod,s, who are all lovely, but don,t seem to be able to find out the cause of the problem Grrrr!!!!
Hey ho, looking forward to a week off next week with my darling children, the reality will be, me doing various catch up jobs around the house whilst waiting for my kids to come home from footy, girly shopping trips etc. !at least the house will be cleaned.
Had bargin chicken thighs cooked with thyme, rosemary, garlic and onion with a touch of vermouth, served with mash for them and roasted celariac for me - not bad if I do say so myself
I took the plunge and bought a steam press via Amaz@n, it arrived at the weekend and dosn,t bloomin work, I managed to get hold of the seller today, who said they will send a new one out tomorrow, but sounded a bit vague on the phone, will see if it turns up by the weekend, and if the new one works - I was hoping to start DD on a new path of ironing for the masses to fund her Hairdye addiction, the fact that our iron blew up helped the purchase (all the willpower of a stuffed jellyfish me.....)
Be safe all and have a fab evening xxNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Hi all,
Gosh I've been grumpy todday. I'm getting so down but I do know that it's onlly because of my consultant appointment on Wednesday. It's so scary going when you knwo they never have good news and I'm waitign for the one whee they say I need Chemo, or worse still, there's nothing else they can do.
Today I've been rubbish at OS. I just can't get bread right. Try as I might it just wont go right. Todays effort was going so well but then, when baked, it was a disaster. It's welded to the tins and looks like a pancake. I kneaded it and left it to prove (perfect - doubled in size). I knocked it back and the texture was perfect. Left it to rise in the tin, and some on a tray as rolls. All doubled in size and was lovely. So what's going wrong? It has to be either the recipe, whichI find doubtful as it got to the risen stage really well. This leaves the oven stage. What temperature should I be baking at? And for how long roughly? I'm wasting so much bread and yeast that my first decent loaf will have cost a £100 in practices!!! I do have a BM and can do the dough in that to good effect but it takes sooo long and you can't do big quantities.
In better news, I managed to get a long handled soft brush and dustpan in a lovely Cath Kidston style and a dish drainer from B&M bargains as well as some low priced cleaning stuff.
At home everywhere is tidied and I've finally mopped the floors. Fires were made and the house was warm. Dinner tonight was leftover curry for yesterday. There are still moe leftovers which are going to MrS work for his lunch and the chickpea and potato curry I've turned into a soup for my lunch. The poorly chicken is making a right mess in the dining room and I feel like I'm following her around all day picking up food, spilled water, poo and general mess. She's turned into a lapdog though and I'm going to miss her when she goes back outside.
Haven't managed to get any cross stitch done today. I've decided to try and do some pieces for everyone I love. Just as a little reminder when I've gone. I don't expect anyone will ever forget me but I think I'd appreciate a small something to touch and feel when times are hard. This is the second piece and oddly, I'm enjoying passing some time doing them.
Right, bedtime for me,

Noswaith dda all,
Sunflower - I am sorry you've been feeling down. I'm another one who will be thinking of you Weds and totally agree about the cross stitch idea. xxxxx
Well, I'm back at work on the last stretch - roll on 09:00 when I'll be on my way home to a cup of coffee, porridge, homes under the hammer and bed! p.s. Monnagran - my DH always says that, how do they get all their improvements done for what seems like, on average, a sixpence????
Going out with some girlfriends on Weds to 'debrief' about our New York trip, it seems a lot longer ago than December. Then having my 'natural' highlights brought back to thir natural colour on Friday along with a bit of a tidy up trim.
Must try to fit in ironing, mopping kitchen floor, hoovering and general cs declutter as well.
Hugs to all in need.
