  • Hello all

Been very naughty today & let the children stay home. Apparently once off our estate the main roads are fine. Well, I wasn't prepared to risk it. Will do so tomorrow though.

OS wise today. Well so far a load of washing on & all the rubbish is out. Other than that, I have been a bit lazy. I need to do some ironing, clean the bathroom & have a general swish around.

NSD today I should think. Unless I make it to slimming world tonight. In which case, will be £1 for the raffle.

I need to get back into baking for the children. Trouble is, I want to sample my bakkig & that's no good for my waist line!

LO chicken for dinner tonight. With pasta for the children & into a curry for dh. I'll have a baked potato & beans.

Right, I am going to kick myself up the rear & get on with some housework.

    Love, hugs & spoons

BB, Bitsy and Molly - thank you for your thoughts! Yes am back on my ownsome as hubby has gone back to work. I am now fully recovered - well as much as I can be, with the constant source of stress and anxiety that my 7 1/2 yr old brings - as much as I love him to bits.

Decided that I'd make a picture frame for my wall sticker today - have given up on nails and hammer and resorted to no more nails - boy is it sticky - almost glued my fingers together. Will wait for it to dry and then paint the frame before I put the wall sticker in it - that way when we move I can take it with us to our new place. I don't mind spending money on bits if I can take them with me. No cleaning done yet (!) but will finish coffee, grab a sandwich and hoover whilst the glue dries! xx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Hi,

You are all SO good. I planned a blitz through the bottom of the house followed by a raid on the ironing mountain. What I actually did was sit down with my knitting and watch Homes under the Hammer. Where do these developers find their workmen? "We'll just install central heating, re-wire, plaster a few ceilings, knock this wall out, move the bathroom into this bedroom put in a new kitchen, re-decorate and fit new carpets. Ooooh, about £5,000." WHAT????

Spent Saturday doing a recce on the houses DS2 and his intended want to look at tomorrow. Wonder afresh at the creative photography ETs manage to produce. The first house we passed twice before realising that it was the same one pictured in the details. The second, in the middle of fields and woods, cunningly managed to conceal the presence of a removal firm behind the cottage and a HUGE warehouse type place almost, but just not quite, attached to the back wall of the house, I'm sure you get the picture. Or not not, as the case maybe!:eek:

There are a lot of veg left over from yesterday, so Bubble and Squeak with bacon for lunch, Yum.

Hope all you snowed-in ones manage to enjoy the enforced rest.:p

Evening - just an update to say the hill wasn't that bad and I didn't have to drive it today. Got a lift back from a colleague who doesn't live too far away from us so that was a BIG relief. Got to drive tomorrow though!

Julie67 - hope you get your boiler sorted soon. Our mixer valve went not long ago so we had to boil the kettle for every bit of hot water we needed. I empathise and hope it gets fixed soon (hugs)

    Evening all,

Quick post from me, still in work, should have been finished hour and half ago but waiting on OH to collect me, taxi home would cost me 30 Euros so I will wait...my car is knackered again...beginning to wonder if it is worth all the hassle but I need my car, and don't have funds to buy another, secondhand or otherwise so I will solder on....and to top it all my laptop is playing up, seems to have some sort of root trojan virus...not sure whats going on but my DS is going to sort it for me, so that should save me some Euros at least. Weather here is Dublin actually quite good for this time of year, we were expecting snow over the weekend but it never arrived, TG so any of you effected by the bad weather please take care, stay safe and warm. OS, well, it will be late by the time I get home so LO from yesterday, roast beef and all the trimmings, just need to bung it all in the oven and heat the gravy so an easy one. Just as well cos OH plays football tonight and likes to have his meal as early as he can so that he is not playing on a full stomach. Need to put on a wash, take what is dry already off the airer and drape the wet stuff on there and hopefully get it dry overnight. Make lunches for OH and me for tomorrow and then sit and ogle Spartacus for an hour....

Hugs and high fives to anyone who wants or needs one.

    Take care

I've kinda lost the oomph to cook dinners at the moment :( not fancying making anything for tea apart from stuff on toast. Need to reclaim my oomph!!

I have hospital appt re vertigo tomorrow, please could you keep your fingers crossed that they can actuallly do something to help me! Thanks x

  • Evening all,
Late one from me today. I have Mondays off so have been simply pottering about. Loaded the WM, did a little bit (only a leeeetle bit!!) of ironing, made a meal plan for the week from what I've got in the freezer - and had an afternoon nap:eek: (Complete with kitty cat under the duvet sharing the electric blanket:o)

The snow is thawing fast. I have a huge avalanche waiting to happen off the sloping conservatory roof. That will wake the dogs up if it happens overnight:rotfl:

Dinner is simples tonight - fish fingers, chips and salad.:T
Tomorrow, my kids at school are making Minestrone soup - a chance to introduce them to cabbage! Many of them will not touch vegetables, but when they see their classmates declaring how yummy the soup is, they invariably want to taste and then go home demanding that mum makes soup:T. Little steps, little steps .....
Hugs to all the poorlies and the down-at-heart. Hey, it was still virtually light at 5.00 p.m. this evening. Spring is not too far away
