I would pay £16 if I really loved a lippie, but I also think there are some excellent 'drugstore' ranges now.

I agree with the person who said 'it's worth it to YOU'

You're the only one who knows your skin tone and how it complements the rest of your make-up.

However, if it were me, I would make a dedicated visit to the nearest large Superdrug and compare the Clinique to the vast range of other lippies out there. If there's truly nothing to compare then carry on buying it!

I've never been a big wearer of lipstick but I love this range.

For me, it doesn't matter how great a shade a lipstick is, if I have to keep reapplying it I'm not interested.

Personally I'd never dream of it.

But who knows? You and I probably have different priorities  Would you spend £10k travelling round the world?

I would if its the only one I liked. No17 mirror shine lipstick is worth a look at.
Thank you for this site Martin

  • I would.

I'm more of a Chanel lipgloss type of person, but I don't regret spending the extra for shades I absolutely love. Or spending less on a cheap brand that offers something I want.

We all have our indulgences be they handbags, chocolate, glossy mags, holidays and if we want them enough we make room in our budget for them-What would you save by using a cheaper brand and where would the saved money go instead ?

I think this is what matters. If you like it and can afford it then fill ya boots. I think if you totted up the cost of sleb mags that people buy you could afford to buy a new lippy every month by comparison.

If you like it then it's worth it! You could look around for cheaper similar colours but would you be willing to compromise for the sake of a few quid?

If it makes you happy then just buy it. It's just not the same buying a cheaper product. Every time you take your lipstick out of your make up bag you'll enjoy the fact you spent the extra money and it's less than most people spend on a night out.
