  • Hello all,

And thanks for the new thread. I'm in again this week - did keep me focussed last week, even though didn't go much above Level 1.

Won't be doing the HHI though! I don't "do" ironing - a waste of energy in my book, both mine and the National Grid's! Everything gets a vigorous shake when it comes out of the WM, and is hung up straight away. Another shake when it's taken off the line or airer, then straight on a hanger or lovingly folded and put away. Job done!

I avoid buying clothes that will obviously need ironing. Of course I do iron the few things that definitely need it, but they're very few and far between.

I came round to this way of thinking when I went camping once. Everything had been crammed into a smallish rucksack, and my t-shirts etc looked a bit creased when they came out. Tough - I had to wear them. But I noticed towards the end of the morning that my body heat had done the ironing for me!

And you've probably picked up that I don't have a TD either - another energy gobbler - no room for one in my green household!
Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!

Hope your OH is okay in our lovely city - we have lots of snow too!

3 family members dispatched, leftovers in slow cooker, am about to do some ironing now.

Positive flylady vibes would be much appreciated if anyone can spare them - DD1 and I have a CAB meeting at 2pm about help for her appealing her DLA rejection. She is finding the whole prospect very scary!

Not caught up with the end of last weeks thread - Dusty - is there positive news on Ed?

  • i think ive gone OTT with the kitchen floor. my friends DH is coming to price us up for tiling the kitchen to match the hall and when i popped in for coffee friday she said he would be round soon to check how many tiles we needed etc and was hoping to fit it in before mid march over the weekend i pulled a bit of lino back to see what the plastic tiles underneath were like. GRUBBY and the back of the lino looked ratty. DD said i think you need to clean under there before you show that to people. well i wondered how easy it would be to lift the tiles so i just tested one. an hour later the cushion floor is ripped up and bagged outside the door and all tiles that havent got appliances or units on have been pryed up:eek: it looks a bit of a state now its concrete with the remains of the black glue the tiles were held down with. i hope she was serious when she said he could fit it in soon. wonder if my DH will notice what ive done when he comes homw for lunch:o
