Evening All!
I have a Samsung N145 net book which I would like to link up to my Samsung HD TV.
Can anyone out there tell me how I go about doing this and what cable I need?
Thanks for any help.

Does your TV have a VGA socket http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector ?You will need a 3.5mm jack to 2xrca cable for the sound from Headphone socket on netbook to TV audio input. like this http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=3.5mm+to+rca&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=3455439851709418956&sa=X&ei=RuouT5LwH4XS8gPa7vnqDg&ved=0CIYBEPMCMAY4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Yup, it has this socket.0

OK so you need a vga-vga cable and the 3.5mm Jack to 2 phono , select source on TV to be PC , and select output on netbook to be external monitor, the TV manual will help you out, on the netbook it will probably be Fn and F4.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . No sound wont work using the vga connection. (on the tv) as there is no sound input available to that connection/chanel even if you plug in the output of the laptop.
You'll need a set of speakers connected to the head phone connection of the net book.0 -

Did you even read the reply debitcardmayhem?Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
Linbox hasn't read any of the replies. VGA doesn't carry sound, that's why OP was advised to buy the 3.5mm connector to the TV.0

He needs to look at what his tv actually uses. I have a samsung tv and for the vga connection it needs a 3.5mm to 3.55mm jack cable, not the rca, to get sound. There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.0
