La senza in administration

Options
I tried to get a refund on some items that were too small - and the store refused point blank, the website said that you could return items until 15th January. The manager said that they would exchange only which i did very relunctantly, I really did want a refund.

Did you take the invoice with you?

Did you pay by Paypal? They don't accept Paypal refunds in store.

As a side note, my local store has a sign saying they won't accept refunds from online, and will only exchange. I presume it's something to do with their administration, and I don't know if its legal, but its been there a few weeks now.

OP, did you follow the refund rules found on their website...
How do I return an item?/How do I send goods back for an exchange?
If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, or you selected the wrong size we are pleased to offer a 100% refund or exchange guarantee within 10 days of receipt providing they follow our company requirements. The goods should be unworn, all labels intact and all garments should be a proper resalable condition. Please note, postage will need to be paid when returning goods.
You can return or exchange the goods purchased online to any La Senza store in the UK and Ireland (excluding Debenhams Concessions and Roches Stores). Just remember to take your invoice which was originally issued via e-mail (attached to the notification or dispatch e-mail) with you or they will not be able to refund the goods. Without this invoice goods will only be exchanged at the value currently being charged in store and no refund will be given.
Orders paid using Paypal need to be returned to the LaSenza Returns Department

I think they might be a bit disorganised at the minute.

I bought four bras in their CastleCourt, Belfast shop on Friday 4th Jan. I tried three on, as they were all the same model just different colours. The black one I didn't try on turned out to be faulty - one strap is so massively longer than the other than you can't shorten it to a wearable length.

I went back to CastleCourt today to find the store closed, even though the SA had said on Friday they expected to be there a another coouple of weeks. Their Victoria Square store is also closed, leaving me 2 concession outlets in towns miles away.

I've tried calling their customer service, but spent 15 minutes being 18th in the queue, so gave up and emailed them. Even that took several attempts as the webform kept giving errors.

Worst comes to the worst I'm out of pocket £15, but I'm annoyed because I made a point of asking the SA how long I had to return items to store.

The dangers of buying from a store that's struggling.
  • I'm betting they either didn't take the invoice to store, or paid using PayPal.

I've just noticed LaSenza website is closed. I'm guessing it will be permanently and not just for technical maintenance as the site states.

As this company is struggling and gone into administration, closing all stores, surely they will of had notices up stating no refunds? (I didn't notice any when I had a look in on Thursday but I wasn't really looking). Not sure if that would also apply to items purchased before the company went into administration but I would have thought so.

  • I was in a La Senza store the other day and I overheard the sales assistant saying to a customer that if the item was not right then she could only exchange it, no refunds.

I suppose they could just remove the notices offering refunds instore. A sneaky way round it though.

I certainly hope not. From what I read half the stores have been bought and the remainder shut down, but no mention of the website side of things -- I imagine this would have been a very valuable side of the business.

If that is the case, they'd have to inform customers at the till that it is exchange only (it will probably state on the receipt too) but what about customers who purchased before Christmas (before the store went into administration), they will have on their receipt that their item/s can be returned for a refund up to a certain date then when they go in to store probably find out that it is exchange only - if there are any stores still open.

When I went in my local LaSenza on Thursday, I walked in and straight out it was like a jumble sale. I knew they went into administration but I didn't realise the store was closing down until I walked out and seen in the sign window.
