My aged carpet in the hallway - both upstairs & downstairs needs replacing. I live in a long terraced house so there are no windows & the hallway is relatively dark. What it the most practical solution for flooring? I don't mind either carpets or laminate but I want something that is warm & hardwearing as the hallway is…

quarry or ceramic floor tiles. will last longer than the house!
ive seen victorian hallways, with nearly perfect original floors.
