Buying groceries from Amazon.

Hi everyone.
I have heard a few people mention that they buy groceries on amazon as a way of saving money.
What kinds of groceries do you buy on there?
Any tips for a beginner, such as best savings to be had from buying there instead of the supermarkets?

I would be interested in this too but I haven't bought anything coz i have no idea what it will be like and what if there is a problem? Its going to be a lot more difficult to return/sort out.Sealed pot challenge no5 member no1816!!0

IMWT- i have had the same kind of worries too.
I am also unsure of what is worth it, and what would be more expensive, but i guess its a matter of checking out the prices of amazon against the other supermarkets online?0 -
Check for offers on mysupermarket and madaboutbargains to see if the amazon price is better.
Heavy items are worth getting, and also items from shops which are not close by, as it is a trek and they may not have the item anyway.
The amazon site seems to be geared towards adjusting the price of an item according to sales, so if you see an offer you want, get it there and then
On the amazon site, check on the right for more buying options, if there, though check the price including delivery0 -
Thanks for the tips Santer.
Big things such as toilet rolls and washing powder seem to be quite popular by the sounds of it.0 -
I have bought Lenor in bulk, also cat food, saves the carrying. Had a problem with one of the bottles of Lenor leaking but they refunded me, no problem.0

I have bought water, irn bru (24 cans £4), yeast, belvita, lenor and washing up brushes. When they have their bargains I snap them up. You just need to keep your eyes peeled because they do latch onto their low prices quite quickly.0

Thanks guys.
Do their bargains often get posted on MSE? If so, where? As i have never seen any?0 -
I recently bought cat food, I think that was the first food item I've considered Amazon for (the deal was posted on HDUK and had free delivery).:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

The do get posted on MSE either on Grabbit or this forum. Sometimes you need to be exceptionally quick. The other day they had something like 48 rolls of andrex for £10 but as I was paying for it the price went up. I think the quantity of people buying alerts the amazon people to the misprice.0

I regularly buy items from Amazon Grocery. Cheerios x 4 are currently £4, Shreddies x 5 are £5 (these are catering boxes-the only difference to buy them in a supermarket is they come in a large branded box but are individually sealed in bags inside). I've also bought fairy liquid, kitchen roll, cat food, sweets, biscuits, washing powder, bottled water, kids juice cups, pasta, rice etc from there with no problems at all. I check it most days and like others have said the prices can change really quickly, so if you see something you would use at a great price-buy it before the price shoots up or they run out of stock. Also i have never had a problem with delivery-always been really quick and an email sent as they dispatch the item/s.hth.xx0
