Strange ebayer

Hi folks

I have a slightly odd situation on ebay.

I listed a few of my OH's old records last week (about 12 records). They are singles and I put them on at less than 99p so I could list for free.

Anyway to be honest some of the groups I have never heard of and I put them in the pop category of records.

Now I have received a message from someone saying I will be reported for false advertising for putting one of the records in the pop category when its not, its Rock. Its feels quite an intimidating message really. Its correctly listed as a single, 45 speed.

So I wonder if anyone has an idea how I can answer this person without being rude.

My first instinct was to tell him where to go, but I restrained myself and put him on the BBL first.

thanks guys

Can only guess really, but I have had someone before contact me about something I had listed incorrectly. I think they were trying to be helpful and save me trouble later on ( it wasn't something they wanted, and were just letting me know) It's always really hard to judge somebodies tone in an email, so maybe just thank them for pointing it out to you?
    :DPlease, pretty please!:D

    Thanks tania

It was the threat of reporting me for false advertising that annoyed me. Had he just said something like, "you might be better putting it in the rock category" then that would have been OK.

I do not like the threat.

  • Pop is short for popular music which includes rock.

The OP should be very careful about giving any info that identifies them on an open forum like MSE. I would strongly suggest that OP keeps exact details to her self, we never know who is lurking on these boards waiting to do mischief as they can be read without a log in name.

Or am I once again showing my age and not realising that the LOL was meant as an ironic statement to see if OP would fall for it?

I can actually guess what the ebayers problem is
most likely they look for specific stuff
its annoying when you are looking in a certain section and its filled with non related stuff
  • Bit off topic - but can you always list for free if you start the auction at under 99p?
