Air asia is a massive budget carrier, I think Asia's largest one. They started the whole budget travel thing in South East Asia. They are supposed to have a good reputation.

In terms of Air Asia X, chances are it will take a little while to launch and it won't be before September, therefore I suggest you try alternative carriers.

Malasyian Airlines themselves are pretty competitive to KL.

Thanks pin. That's not what I wanted to hear as getting cheap flights would make all the difference! Are they just being too hopeful by announcing that flights will start from July do you think?

I'll look into Malaysian Airlines - do you know if they ever have sales?
    Waddle you do eh?

Sorry, don't work for Air Asia, so don't know.

All airlines have sales, its just a matter of findng out when they are.

What about Oasis Hong Kong and then onto KL?

Or else using one of the Mid Eastern airlines to KL?

I won't fly with Airasia if I can avoid. Many people said so negative feedbacks about it, like easyjet and ryanair...you know what I mean.

I have flown with airasia loads of times and have never had a problem with them. If I ever do experience a problem with them (as I fully intend to fly with them again) then I will take into consideration the extremelly low cost of the flight.

Also, just found out that airasia x is now delayed until late 2008. Better late than never I suppose. I cannot wait to get a bargain.

After their flippant response to a burning smell in the cabin (on board one of their brand new A320's) and cavalier approach to human interaction / safety, i'll happily use them for 1 1/2 hour flights -

But 13 hours to KL??? You're off your respective rockers.

Especially when Malaysian (Economy Class Airline of the year according to Skytrax) hover around £450 inc tax. Which will only be around £100 more than the cheapest AirAsia X ticket after tax.

There is money saving, and then there is the potential to ruin your holiday...
