Boiler stopping ?
Hi, We have a 3 year old Worcester condensing boiler which stops on its own before the temperature has been reached in the room where the control is. We can get it started again by running the hot water tap and it fires up for a while then stops, but we shouldn t have to do that. Any suggestions ? Thank you.

Because the stat is set at 17 degrees and no way is it 17 degrees in the room. More like 10.0 -
What room thermostat do you have?0

It sounds like its possible the pump may have failed and the boiler is cutting in and out due to it reaching the set boiler temperature but the pump is not circulating the heat from the boiler round the system?
The room thermostat will still be asking for heat to the system so therefore the boiler will be operating but no flow to the heating circuits?Signature removed0 -
Does the boiler have a digital display? If yes what does it read?Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0

Hi No it doesnt. There are no warning lights on to say there s something wrong with it. Ive got it set on 5 and it goes up to 7. I think it could be a sticking valve or the stat on the wall s not working correctly as we get the hot water.0 -
are you getting any heat on the radiators at all? only when you say you can start it by running a hot tap - is it just coming on to heat the water up and failed with the heating? If it is heating the water then the boiler must work but sounds like its prob heating thermostat died or pump not circulating properly (but then would expect boiler to be working overtime). If you're not covered by any sort of homecare scheme then sounds like you need to contact a plumber0
