Hi all,

I have just moved in to a shared house and my flatmates have a broadband connection that is very slow and keeps breaking. I want to get my own connection in addition to theirs - is it possible to have two connections working at once next to each other even if they are locked in to a contract?

I very much doubt it. BT can install a second line, but I would have it would still come under the same house (and the same bill I think). Installing a second line might not make much difference.
There could be a number of factors as to why you have a slow connection. You could be a long distance away from exchange (which you could look into to see if your bt cabinet is enabled for FTTC), or you could a have poor wifi singal (buying a homeplug might help make if better), or it could be a bad line.
Does you room mate get a faster/more reliable connection?

No. You can only have one broadband connection on one line.
You'll need a second line, and have to pay line rental on that.
