Talktalk

Since getting talktalk installed we have had nothing but problems with our broadband speed and signal drooping. We just put up with it now.
Back in October we complained one of the many times. They done all the line checks and talktalk confirmed that there was a problem outside the home and would send one of there engineers out first cos if they send a BT engineer out and the problem was in our home it would cost us,witch I thought was strange as they had done a (line test and confirmed it was outside) twice.
Talktalk engineer came out and confirmed NO problem in the home so he done a further test calling talktalk to do this test and they confirmed yet agin problem was outside. So he said someone will be out to fix I said will I get charged NO he said the problem is out side,so we wait in and Engineer came out and said he cannot find a problem outside, even after all the talktalk tests done.He advised us to change wires in the home he did not fix anything.
We still have the problem and just put up with it and guess what we have been charged £129 on our bill after we were told we would not be charged and when I ring talktalk about this they say we have to pay. HELP PLEASE.

Register there and make your complaint. TalkTalk are notorious for doing this. (Did you get charged for the TT engineer too?)

    Thanks.
We did not get charged for the TT engineer. They sent him to 100% confirm the problem was outside. He found no problem inside and did a line check with TT to make sure the problem was outside then told me he will ring someone to fix it and stated we will not be charged for the call out as all checks say problem is outside.
I feel as though we are bullied into paying as they will cut us off. You cannot talk to any one about this.

That's why I suggest the forum. If you have a note of the dates/times you spoke with TT (both you calling them, and them calling you) then they'll be able to check call recordings too.

TT do not have any 'engineers'. Any physical work on your line is done on their behalf by BT OR, and if the fault is on your equipment or downstream of the NTE5, it is chargeable at a minimum £130.
I suspect that the service you called out was Qube, who sub contract for TT. Any visit by them will be charged via your TT account, and this should have been stated when you booked the call out.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

TT did say they would send an engineer out to make sure the problem was not in the house because if the BT engineer found a problem in the house we would be charged if he fixed the problem.
Line checks by TT and an engineer they sent found line faults outside so he called a BT engineer when he arrived he said he found no faults. I was not in the house he advised my partner what might be the problem and said was not allowed to touch anything in the house.

I repeat-TT do not have engineers. Any engineers would have been from BT OR, in or out.
