Our Library does a sing sond time every week thats free:j DD loves that.
You have just reminded me of a toy library close buy that lends toys for 50p a week and you can have a play there for free. Thanks
  • I know how you feel. Three months ago my SMP had stopped and, due to extra tax being stopped from my very small retaining pay and buying back the previous 6 weeks company pension, I had the grand total of £4 for the month leading up to Christmas. Fortunately OH was supportive and worked some extra hours and I went a bit overdrawn (well actually quite overdrawn) but soon got back on track once I returned to work part time in the New Year. Please don't panic. If your little one has actually grown out of her clothes Primark and Tesco do bodysuits and sleepsuits for approx £1 each and have probably got some sale stuff left as well. Clothes usually last a bit longer than the actual age on the clothes suggests and you can get extra wear from sleepsuits by cutting the feet off. Charity shops are great and maybe some of the other mums you know have outgrown clothes from their children which they would give/sell you if you mention how quickly your baby is growing. Not sure whether you have parents/in-laws who might help but I've found I only have to mention that things are a bit small and mine will race out to buy new- so that I don't like to say anything now!
Did you have any duplicate/unwanted presents for Christmas which could be wrapped up as a present for a birthday (particularly dd's friend)?
We made an album for my mum and m-i-l with pictures from my scans right up to present day for Christmas. They loved them and are always showig them off. Also put pictures of dd in keyrings for them.
Perhaps you could have a lovely family day out with DH to make up for lack of pressie.
oh, just had another idea- lots of 'worlds best dad', 'I love my nanny' type things out there which they would probably love. Funny how things aren't naff when a baby has given them to you...my OH refused to let me wash his 'i love my dad' socks for days cos he liked them so much and Ella 'chose' them specially

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I think that you will be fine. It's surprising how easy it is not to spend money when you can't.
Mothers day - go for HM choccies - get a regular bunch of flowers from the florists and hand tie them with some ribbon - homemade card, or homemade vouchers for a 'special meal', or something that your mum will appreciate.
If you are having to obtain next size clothes(note I didn't say buy - put a request on freecycle), then e-bay the stuff your baby has grown out of.

    Relax, you will do it!!
