Has anyone actually answered your question yet K_P83? you know like an A to B answer?

    I applaud that!

Far too much argy-bargy, the OP asked a question and just needs an answer from whoever can supply one.;)
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

    It's ok.

I've already deducted that if there's no direct response 32 replies in, then that must mean that nobody ACTUALLY KNOWS for sure & instead folk are just venting their anger about any bank that they've had this experience with.

So in an indirect way, i think the response is a big "i don't know" :)

I did, which was how I was able to correct you. You said he worked for the Fraud Squad, which is a division of the police. They deal with crime.

He works in a department of a bank. They deal with things that contravene their T&Cs and may - or may not - be criminal.

Ah, you're one of those who hang on specifics. I guess you spend your hours trying to point out peoples spelling mistakes online then, not realising that they're likely just typing errors.

I call them the fraud squad. I'm well aware it's fraud department, but i just refer to them as fraud squad. My apologies if this interferes with your specifics.

As you seem to hang on specifics so much, i'm surprised as to why you claimed he "JUST" worked in a bank - when he specifically stated which department he worked in.

    Not to worry.

Sorry to have caused such an argument. Legalities aside, banks aren't in the business of giving money away so if there is any percieved bending of the rules and a reasonable reason can be found to stop and prevent the behaviour, saving the bank money in the process, it may be taken.

For all the hassle that it may bring for the sake of a free fiver- I personally, speaking from experince of being at the sharp end of the stick and seeing the consequences every day would not recomend this type of behaviour to anyone. I hope this has helped qualify any previous statements.

Except - there's no evidence to support an affirmative to the title of your thread. Other (from earlier threads) :
    • .... than where someone is moving the same £1k through accounts owned not only in their own name but also 3rd parties - such as family members.
    • .... or - again multiple accounts - where someone is moving the same £200 some 15 times per month through 3 x accounts owned in sole name / spouse / jointly.
In both cases there's been reports of accounts frozen and then closed. Other than such cases the vast majority (and I hesitate to count how many threads there have been on the Halifax Reward current account) appear to have no problem running the accounts ...... just a few issues opening / funding them in the first instance.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
