  • Hi,

that link took a bit of time, so stuck the pic up for you.

Looks just like the pic I put up, still say it's a single rate meter.

    Here you go,

    meter.jpg

That is indeed a 1phase 2wire whole current L+G electric meter.

As i can see the msn i will check ecoes tomorrow at work, see if theirs anything obvious that stands out.

The onstream fitter who installed that did a crap job with the seals on the terminal cover and fuses.

Have you thought about calling bg and asking again what a group meter is, may be some lingo they use within bg...

Having checked ECOES on your behalf I think I can see what has happened. You have two meter points (MPANs) at your property and before the exchange I suspect you had multirate meter/meters, you should be able to see this by checking a bill pre meter exchange which should show also 2 S numbers. When the meter exchange took place they have installed a single rate meter (denoted by the A at the end of the model number). What the Meter Operator should have done is install it (associated it) on one of the two MPANs and arrange for the supplier to 'disconnect' (logically) the other MPAN. What has actually happened is that the meter is associated with both MPANs. Suggest you phone BG and explain this to them. Also tell them that when they sort this out they also need to update the MTC so that it is a Non-related one and currently it is a related one which means when you try and change supplier the new supplier will be expecting 2 S numbers.

Thanks for sorting the pic for me.

As for the fitting here's what happened...an engineer from british gas came out to do the switch over of the 2 meters, however after he had a look he said he was not allowed to change it over as it was a certain type which he was not allowed to deal with. So he arranged for a different engineer to come out the following day, which he did, but he again said he was not allowed to deal with this type of meter himself, so he rang another engineer who he knew was working nearby. When the 3rd engineer arrived he was able to change it, but only with the help of the 2nd engineer, so a job what started early in the morning actually ended up being finished mid afternoon (not that I really know how long it takes to change a meter).

I will make a call to BG & will let you know what they have to say, but all past dealings with them ain't been great, but I'll give them all the info you have gave me.

A Huge Thank You again for all the help that everyone has given, it is very much appreciated. :)
    Many Thanks :hello:
