Sky overcharging me !

I upgraded my sky package to HD in April / May 2011.

The deal was Sky line rental / evening & weekend calls, unlimited broadband, basic Sky+TV package with HD pack. I agreed to a 12 month contract on the basis that my existing discounts stayed meaning my monthly bill would be £31.75.

All was fine until sky changed their TV packages last September.
My bill increased by £10 a month. I called customer services who said they would investigate and try to recover the recording of the call. They said that if the advisor had agreed to this then the would credit my account and amend any future bills.

I have heard nothing and sky are still overcharging me. I have e-mail an official complaint via their website and am awaiting their response.

Has anyone else had any similar issues or have any advice on what I should do if they don't play ball and credit my bill for the overcharges!

Thanks

    Sky Entertainment HD pack:- £29.75
    Sky Broadband £7.50
    Sky Line rental £12.25

Would come to £49.50/ month, and you are getting it for £41.75, did you make any changes to your account after the initial deal was set up? You should have qualified to the price freeze promise, which bit have they increased the price on?

I guess the best course of action would be to collect all the documentation you have and attach to an email to jeremy darroch.

  • If you have made any changes to your TV package during this time, you do lose your prize freeze (and they don't always warn you about this), if you haven't changed anything, I agree with penrhyn and do the email
  • Thanks for the replies.

I had a free line rental offer before I took out the new deal.
When I called them to upgrade to HD I did on the basis that the total cost for everthing stayed at 31.75.
I got a reply from my email complaint. They said that the free line rental should have expired 2 years ago but they forgot to remove the discount...... Here's the best bit..... Although they admit they agreed to the 12 month deal they have cancelled the discount on my HD TV package because I should not be getting free line rental... but I am still getting free line rental !?!?
Have now passed my complaint to the Ombudsman. I will let you know what they say when I get a reply.

Who is this Jeremy chap you say I should email?

    Lol!

Do think it would really be worth emailing a director?
Surely they wouldn't get involved in something like this, they would just forward it to the same incompetent department that replied to my last complaint.

I actually think Jeremy Clarkson would be as much use! Lol!

they don't personally, but they usually have an 'executive team' who deal with your sort of situation...
