Slingbox Tv Good Or Bad

Got a mate that uses one of these as he travels round the country alot. It means he can watch tv in his hotel room instead of being bored etc. I've another friend who traded a box with some guy in the US so they can watch each others tv programs, ie: he receives american tv whilst the guy in the US watches UK tv. This sounds just too good to be true, where is the catch?

Is the picutre quality as good as "normal" TV?

Obviously the sender satellite and broadband connection must be switched on.

Unfortunately my satellite and broadband are in different rooms.

Picture quality I would say depends on the upload speed of your broadband connection. The only problem my dad has is with watching any sports ie football. Other than that he has said that its as good as normal tv.

I have a 1.4mbs upload speed which helps. You can also control the skybox/pvr via the slingbox.

The slingbox will eat alot of bandwidth and you may be charged more from BT due to this.
