Reclaiming account fees???

Hi,
Does anyone know if you can reclaim account fees?? I have just found out that my father has an advantage gold account with Natwest which they charge him £12.95 a month for. I do not know how long he has had this account for (but believe it to be over 5 years maybe as long as 15) as he can not remember (has problems with his memory, which is currently under investigation with the hospital). I can see no reason why he would have taken out this account unless the bank had given him reason to believe that it was of an advantage for him, but as he has never owned a mobile phone, cannot drive and has one holiday a year which he takes out a diffrent insurance for cannot see any reason for him to have this. Does anyone know if this is possible.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I just got a call from the bank and they sorted it all out for me and I got my money back...0

Yes, and also any fees that were paid when the money took me overdrawn.0

I was told I would have to upgrade to a advantage gold account in 2006, so that I could take out a loan. Is that what happened with you, and have you claimed back these charges for the whole period that you had the advantage gold account?0

No, just since I cancelled it 6 months ago and they failed to close it for me.0
