  • thank you - you are lovely (((hugs))) to you too
  • well yesterday my water bill came and it was an actual reading and i was £163 in CREDIT - i was so pleased and even rang up straight away to get the refund and reduced my payment each month by £20 - so that will take about 2 wks to come and then will pay off some of a credit card.

i am going to pay £150 off next card today - i can't clear it yet as i have some refunds for stuff they haven't credited that i returned 2nd jan - when they have done that i am then going to ask for my interest to be refunded because it might not be much but 2 months interest of 27% on £66 is better in my pocket thank you! and when that is sorted i will clear about £20 ish left and close the account

also had the meeting here again last night so another £10 added to that pot when i get it - the next course will have the first 4 weeks at £20 a week as it will be 2 nights so that will end up being possibly £130 as well as this £90!!

i think for the first time i can see that we are really reducing this its good especially after my setback with the calculations

well done scaredy cat :T :T you seem to have the right positive attitude towards dealing with your debt and are now looking long term from a daily perspective. the old saying "pennies make pounds" is so true, every little cutback you can make in your daily life really is noticable after a while and brings you ever closer to being debt free. keep up the good work :D
proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance! :p

The fact spending habits ahve changed is the biggy!! That is great, you could easily have let slip back on the spendy slope but you didn't.. therefore it is fabulous work!!

Well.. you deserve the odd treat too so don't neglect yourself at the cost of a couple of quid!!

Glad to see you back anyway.. I missed you if noone else did!

well its been far too long since i have written here, a few family issues and any more excuses i could find could be blamed but actually just not made time.

however, as above, spending habits have changed. today i have updated my snowball, and this week have cleared next and CLOSED it :j if i want something now i go into store and order it from the directory. so am really chuffed about that as the interest rate is so high.

i am going to update my signature in a mo - it is now under £15,000 :j (although doesn't include student loan or mortgage :o ) but i am delighted with it. I have just realised what a motivator the snowballer is - although my debt free date is only reduced by 3 months as 2 of the debts are loans but i will make sure i save the money as each debt is reduced so i can pay the loan in a block.

anyway, off to update signature and spend an hour upstairs sorting some paperwork bits - reckon i can find some more savings from somewhere!!

oh the other thing i did was go to a wedding - i had been worried i would have to buy a whole new outfit as i didn't really have anything - but a friend of mine has a great attitude - what can i borrow so i don't spend anything - i only bought a top - reduced by £15 so under £20, a pair of shoes - newlook £18, and a necklace for £7. i borrowed trousers and a bag. so was pleased but also those 3 things will be used for a hen weekend i have coming up soon. My friend had the right attitude and i liked seeing how little i could spend!!

i did sort out some more paperwork yesterday but what i realised is i am not really budgeting more like recording what i am spending.

i am budgeting for food - have been a little bit spendy this month but still have £95 of budget left to last til 25th of may. This month we are running at £400 o/d so far, but that includes £140 spent on car - so that has come out of this month - but not budgeted for. I have also paid out on a lot of fuel that i will get back for expenses - will do that today. i also have a home allowance to claim on that for meetings held here which should be just about £140.

but my next job this week is to go back to martins budget that i completed, and also my direct debits/bills and sort out a proper budget rather than just writing down what i spend.
