i have added you to my subscribed too!! thanks for support.
i go shopping once a week to supermarket and at the weekend visit my butcher and farmers shop - i have a real issue with food - when i first had dd1 i bought EVERYTHING organic - prob why was spending a fortune on food and i never bought anything second hand  but i realise i can;t sustain this life style but i like my butcher and farm shop for meat - i actually think its reasonable - i paid £1.50 lb for local mince beef and at the farm shop i did pay £10 for a chicken but we had roast, a chicken and veg pie and there is enough left to freeze to make more pie (maybe even 2) so not bad really.
hence not wanting a second hand bed - its mad isn't it but i think it started with postnatal depression
and i still find it hard to do somethings - i am going to look in paper for second hand - freecycle doesn't seem to be that big here just yet. I also want a bed with a pull out one under it - we do holiday house swapping (great as free!! and we have stayed in some amazing houses whilst ours is nice but normal
) so it would be good to have that extra bed - so maybe second hand is good - i don't want to spend £200 kitting someone else's child out with a gorgeous bed!! :rotfl:
sorry i am rambling but its thinking time!! i don't seem to have much of that in the day time!
I do actually buy stuff second hand now and can't believe the bargains i have had - i LOVE carboot sales (monsoon clothes for 50p, beautiful next coat 50p!!) but sometimes find myself going and buying stuff i don't really need cos its so great
oh well, not feeling v well today so off to finish off kitchen and mop living room floor (maybe dh will do that!) Tomorrow i have a 'meeting' being held here its the 1st of 9 wk course and i get just under a tenner for having it here towards utilities etc i shouldn't actually pay out that much more or certainly won't notice it but that will be almost £90 its one way for me raising extra money - will either clear debts or be used to fund swimming lessons - as after this course there is another 9wk one and sometimes it might be 2 nights a week - so thank goodness for flylady as house is ok!!
right off to look at other diaries before bed (oh and cleaning

pigpen i went right off on a tangent!! was going to say - i do a weekly supermarket shop with meal plan for eve meals and now lunch times too - and then i try to only go to supermarket for bread (don't have abreadmaker) and then my trip to butcher and farm shop at weekend. I have saved lots in doing that
also i think you are right about savings - i heard martin argue with jeremy vine about this!! he says savings are a false economy for the reason you said and that if you needed them you can sometimes get the money but just having it sit there when you have debts is a waste!! its when its clearing or cleared i suppose we start with the savings!! isn't it 3 months salary or something like that -0 -
well tonight i have earned £10 for having some people in my house for a meeting!! i would normally have attended it in a different venue but because i hosted i get this allowance - it is a 9 week block so will get £90 at the end which i will put straight onto debt - after that there is another 9 week block already booked - so £180 before end of june for doing something i would have done for nothing anyway!! :j
today i was excited because the virgin cc turned up :rotfl: so i am now going to work out how much i can put this month - am hoping for around £200 as am going to clear the Next cc as well. I am also eagerly waiting the utility bills as am hoping that my water and electric monthly dd can be reduced - have been trying to reduce my usage!! and at mo i pay £70.50 on water
also we can def get free broadband now and our monthly bill will be £1 less then what we paying for jsut phone - i think i already posted that so sorry for repeating - its just as im thinking and i always say same thing more than once

I haev no idea what Martin said about savings but that was just how I feel about it.. it just makes sense to me. I have heard it is 'good' to have 3 months salary in the bank to cover you in case of sudden job loss or illness or for any eventuality.. it would take me 3 years to save that much at the moment lol!!
I shop online so I am not tempted by clothes or things or offers I really don't need. I don't have much will power when it somes to food!
I repeat myself too.. thinking out loud and simply forgetting what I have already said are the causes.. but at least it means I remember what I am meant to be doing.
£90 for making a couple of coffees is great!! and a wonderful reason to keep the house spicked and spanned!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Am VERY excited as have just paid a chunk of money off of virgin cc!! :T
I realised we were just holding onto it as a kind of false security - as we have never in about 3 years had money in our account at this stage of month (we get paid 25th so was 23rd this month)
but i have just paid £444 off virgin to take our debt to £1 under £16k - a silly amount under but it does feel really good to think 'we owe less than £16000'
last week i felt as though i wasn't making any progress really but yippee it is working and is going down :j :j :j
(i do have to say thanks to pigpen for her inspiration :T - and to everyone else for their support :T )0 -
it feels good to update signature!!0

Never mind.. you WILL get there.. another £500 will be gone before you know it. When mine went up I refused to update my signature until it showed the overall figure reducing so I am with you there!!
Hopefully you will find a winning lottery ticket on the floor in a shop one day.. when you do remember it was me who vibed it there and pay my debts off too!!
