Undercharged but need to take something back

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question so apologies if not.
Last weekend we bought a new TV, a stand and some HDMI cables in a large electrical retailer.
Their systems were down and the receipt was handwritten. The man on the till added it all up incorrectly and as a result we were undercharged by £130.00. It looks like he took the discount we'd already agreed off the price twice. We said nothing and took our goods. We ended up getting a £1000 TV for £840 and a £60 stand for £40 when we'd agreed £920 for the TV and £50 for the stand (shows how it's always worth a haggle even in the mainstream shops!).
However, the HDMI cables need to go back. Will they notice their error and insist we pay the correct price?

I think you'd be pushing your luck...HDMI cables cost about a quid.
This assumes that the retailer is prepared to accept a return. They're under no obligation whatsoever to do so in law, it depends on the store's own returns policy. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Yep agree with macman re luck and the pushing of it.
They stuffed £130 into your pocket
buy some new HDMI cables out of that - why poke a stick in the sleepy eye of good fortune ? 0 -
Why do they need to go back? You didnt use buying vastly over priced cables as a sweetner to get the discount did you? If it is because they simply do not work I would take them back for a straight swap.

They need to go back because they are too short, we want to exchange them for some longer ones. There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0

I would do as the poster above says and buy them from e-bay for about £3 then sell your short ones. You will probably come out making money tbh. Don’t be fooled into thinking those £70 ones in Comet et al are any better than the £3 ones from e-bay. Any difference is minor at best and a domestic user will see very very little to no difference (imo no difference but there is always someone on public forums that will desperately say they see a difference - probably as an attempt to justify them spending the silly money in the first place)

You can buy a lot of leads for £130.0 -
argos, richer sounds etc anywhere that isnt the store you bought the tv fromWho remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?0

Being too short wasn't a fault - in your case buying an HDMI in line connecter will double the length if you use two of the cables together. As others have said, they are only worth £1 each at most (slightly more if aluminian plugs). Make your own arrangmeents.0

Put the money you were undercharge to one side for a while.
It can be claimed back from you in the next 6 years.
Their error could well come to light in an audit.
Lets hope it doesnt break down during the warranty period eh. Then you really would be in the doo dahmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
