Any advice on how accessible Berny Riviere is by train from Paris? We've flown to Paris before and then got the train to Fontainebleau and stayed on a nice site; but the Berny Riviere is tempting. We prefer not to drive if poss - so any info about public transport would be welcome.
Thanks!
says this on the Eurocamp site :
Train / Bus
Train station: Soissons, 18km
Services to: Paris, Laon, Crepy-en-Valois
Car hire: available locally, 20km0 -
Hiya,
We went to France last year and stopped at a campsite called La Pinede which was near to Royan, was brilliant and the weather was fantastic!
We used a company called Fleur holidays, they have sites all across France, on the same sites as Eurocamp etc, but think they work out cheaper.

NafUk wrote:The Vendee coast area, whilst nice, is not true France. It consists of many holidays camps on both side of a road running by the sea. We have been Eurocamping, Sibluing (Haven Europe) 7 times and now go to the Dordogne most years for the beter weather and scenary and real France."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

The Vendee was disappointing...loads of campsites next to each other, not much else. Matthews holidays have some good deals on their site. I've tried Canvas, Eurocamp and others but prefered Matthews. Read all the brochures to see where the sites are, their facilities and nearness to the beach. if you don't want to travel too far Brittany is hard to beat.0

I've used venue holidays since 1989, always had first class service. Found them more personal than eurocamp and cheaper https://www.venueholidays.co.uk
We have driven down to canet plage except for 4 years when we used our free train passes. Le Brasilia is the campsite which can be found at https://www.brasilia.fr
Good luck0 -
Yup, we also go in May (last week) for 3 weeks. The Dordogne in July and August is nothe Dordogne we visit in May. This is also true for most other areas of France. We would not go there in July or August. If we had to holiday in July or August we would probably choose another country.0

Although they can be cheaper sometimes, be careful with their accommodation. A lot of it is quite old, and the sites can be generally badly equipped. First-hand experience...worked for them.0 -
remember to check the campsite online...it may be cheaper to book directx x x0

Another vote for Les Ecureils we stayed there several times with Eurocamp and then started taking a Rapido folding van instead which was cheaper .
