  • Well yes this is true if your subscribed to sports or movies and i got my box for £49 and no installation fee but when ringing them they might say no if so you need to get on to the people in scotland this is probally easist by saying you want to leave.

So yes it does work now Virgin media may be cheaper but you probally wont get sky one as there is a bitter feud going on as earlier mentioned. Also i did this about 2 weeks ago. :)

    And yay:j first post!!

You will be able to get Setanta Sports on freeview via Top UP TV, from the 1st March for £10.99/month. So need a freeview box with a slot and a Top UP TV viewing card (starter pack: £29.99). Not sure if you need to also pay the standard £9.99/month for Top UP TV even if you only want Setanta. If so, that would mean £20.98/month.

Possible Top UP TV only has the main Satanta Sports for football and golf being only £10.99/month. Since Sky/NTL/Telewest subscribers pay £15/month (£10/month for first 3 months) for all 9 Satanta channels. Which includes rugby, horse rasing, NASN etc.

Edit: Just noticed they have discontinued the Starter Pack (viewing card for freeview boxes) as a seperate product, now want you to pay £209.99 for their Top Up Anytime Box (freeview PVR) + Starter Pack.

Wow thanks for the info & advice Teak, won't be paying £209.99 + subscription for Top Up Tv though! Not a fan of Murdoch or Branson but at least this price war/competition should mean good news for the consumer.

The thing I like about the Setanta Sports Pack, apart from the golf & footie, is that you get the horse racing too (especially with Cheltenham a few weeks away), think Racing UK were trying to charge about £20 for that alone not so long ago!
  • Freeview isn't available in our area now and our sky digital subscription ended so we're getting freeview channels minus E4 :o And Virgin isn't available in the area either

Sky are trying to get rid of Sky News and Sky Sports News from the freeview, because it is just that free, and they cant seem to be sleeping at night.
