What do they need to do to get your stove it? Do they need to knock through to make a builders opening, replaster/render, lay hearth etc, or do they simply need to throw the liner down and connect up etc?
  • Hi suisidevw,

No, as mentioned in my beginning post, we already have a chimney so the space is already there.

We are having the log burner as a cassette so there will be some work there but other than that, it should be a typical installation.

The main aim of my question was as the original poster, was there any feedback about the two companies. The quote itself seems very reasonable and around the mark that I was expecting.

I was hoping for some further feedback from leif and also from furry elephant or anyone who had used these companies...

OK, well I can't give any feedback on the companies, but I can on the price. That's astronomical.
  • I think I agree - very expensive As I live in the area my hopes for a wood-burner next year have taken a blow, or at least the potential supplier.. Perhaps they'll quote me a lower price as it's an ex-council house...
  • About £2500 for materials and £1500 for 3 days labour (2 people?)

I thought that wasn't too bad...

Its a cassette and not a free standing model we are going for
  • Just installed this week and very impressed with the work carried out, the installation and the finished product...
