I've just signed up with them this year as they quoted me the cheapest via a comparison website too. They were almost £200 cheaper than my renewal, so it made logical sense to go with them.
I've had home insurance from Aviva before and I've never had a problem with them in the past. Having said that I've never had to contact them for anything so can't really comment on the customer service side of things.
As far as I know they only give cheap prices that matches their strict criteria otherwise quotes becomes expensive, a bit like Esure years back when you need 4+ years no claims and a clean driving history. Its definitely not for everyone. Same as Direct Line...every year it give me a ridiculous quote...probably area code related as everything else is good.0 -
I've just renewed with them half the price of everyone else with the same cover. Hopefully I won't need to claim but £300 is better with me I think.0

I have just gone with quote me happy to. At least £150 cheaper than the next rival on comparison sites.
I had a slight problem with their site when I tries to pay, one tweet later and all sorted. Most company's have a preferred type of driver so what is good for me may be unsuitable for others.Know the difference between what you WANT and what you NEED. :T0 -
To be fair they are no worse than 99% of other insurance companies. I've been insured with them along with most of the other "major" insurers over the years and the worst service was from Esure, and Direct Line & their associated companies also give poor customer service. They just don't really care about offering a service once they have your money.
So in my opinion it's pot luck, one person may get great service from Aviva & the next dreadful, as is the same with them all.
At the end of the day they are a business and want to make money, customer service is an occupational hazard for the lot of them
Good luck OP0 -
I am slightly concerned that they can only be contacted via email. They claim that they are available via email 24/7 but I emailed them yesterday with a query about NCD and still no reply!!!0

still shoping for insurance. Just spoke to Audi who were competitive with their insurance quote and they said factory fitted optional wheels do not count as a modification.0

I am looking for an insurance quote for my new car and going through different comparison websites, Quote me happy keeps coming with the best quote along with the extras I need (Legal cover, courtesy car..etc). Has any one used this company before and how would you rate it?
VERY POOR. I have had a very irritating customer experience
RE: fully comprehensive insurance with additional legal and hire car.
Hit by another driver, contacted Quotemehappy gave them details of the incident and that was the last time I spoke to anyone regarding the matter. Was contacted by approved garage, my car was collected and replaced with courtesy car.
Had courtesy car for a week, contacted again by garage who informed me car was a write off. Asked why pictures of damage, etc. had not been requested, told that they were just repairs. Courtesy car was collected. Same day hire company called to tell me I get hire car for 14 days. I informed them that it was 21. They called Quotemehappy and confirmed 21days.
Called by garage around 10 days after to be told that they were advised to contact me to return hire car. I emailed to dispute payment for write off - twice. Up to today 10/07/12 still have not heard from Quotemehappy. On website, their are no contact numbers on which you can ring and speak to someone regarding the matter. I have not been communicated with regarding fault or anything.
To date I have not received any documentary confirmation cars has been written off, no advice as to next steps, at the time I was told car was written off, I had 6months plus on road tax which I could claim back has declined to nearly 5 going on 4 months, their so called payment (which will not buy me an equivalent car) for the write off was minus an excess of £350 which I have not been advised on how to recover. To add to the mix, I tried to use my additional extra which I HAVE paid for - legal cover which is supposed to be 24/7. I called the published 0844 number (charged at 4p per min from a BT line). I was on it for 45 mins and listening the looped recorded voice telling me the team are on their way or something, lost the will to live and hung up feeling very annoyed.:mad:
All in all, the cost of the insurance has not been worth the money. Customer service is appalling because when you need help, it is not there - hardly insurance.
Is there any sort of claim I can make for losses on car tax, recovery of excess, repayment of legal cover and time wasted chasing by phone and dead emails?:(0
