This is a GREAT site on Bangkok

I love Bangkok. If you gonna stay over weekends in Bangkok, don't forget to visit Jatujak weekends market (if you are carazy for bargain shopping like me). It is a very very big shopping place. I spent two days there and came back with lots of things (also paying a small amount).
I do agree that Bangkok is busy. But there are lots of things to do. It might be cheaper to treat yourself for spa, salon, or even good restaurants around the city.
I went there last Sep for 6 weeks. I am lucky because I have a Thai friend who be my host for my first week in Thailand. Plan to go back again this year. But can't manage to get the exact time yet.0 -
Go to Restaurant 'Cabbages Condum' in Bangkok nighttime as it is something different in daytime, very interesting and certainly different0

Hi
Been a few times to Thailand with the family and would say the best places to stay are.
N01: Koh Samui, Amari palm Reef (rent a jeep at this hotel for £10 per day)
N02: Hua Hin, Hilton Hotel (car hire a little more difficult here but negotiate)
Once again I would say a couple of days in Bangkok is enough.0 -
Krabi is nice too. We stayed 4 days in each - Bangkok and Krabi - booked independantly and it was a great holiday0

The Bangkok Marriot resort hotel was fantiastic. The other side of the river so you had to take the free boat to get accross to the city. FANTASTIC sunday brunch. One price - includes Bloody Maries or Champagne Cocktails - all the food you could possibly want open from 10 till about 3 in Trader Vics bar. Excellent value for money. We did the river kwai that was good you get to see the site of prisoner of war camps etc. We also did the floating market which I wouldnt recomend if you want to buy good quality stuff but the general atmosphere was good. Have a great time we love the place.

I have been to the following islands Koh Tao, Koh Chang, Koh Pang Yang, Koh Samui, Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi (all in 2006). I would have to agree Koh Chang is very nice and quite (only one busy club) and plus its not full of prostitutes!
I stayed at tiget hut's on Klong Prao Beach, it's basic accommodation at 300 per night (1 hut on the beach) which is approx 5.50 per night. If your a person who can relax and just read on the beach you will like it.
The diving when i went around December time was not so great though i think the fishing is good around this area.
General point, i think the main land is not so great but the islands are! I really like Koh Phi Phi and the diving off there is very good though i think its the most expensive island but still its cheap.0 -
Fluffy bunny , if you are reading this have you been to Thailand?
If so where did you go, was it nice?
We are just about to book for nov and have £2,600 to spend in CC vouchers . We are thinking of the Elephant hills tour with Virgin.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks
