Nappies for tiny babies

My son is two weeks old and only weighs around 5lb. We are having a huge problem with leaking nappies. He is on his 5th outfit of the day so far! One of the changes was only after 15 minutes! They keep leaking up the back, for some reason I can't really fathom. We've tried Pampers 4-11lb ones, and Asda own brand of the same size, but they are both as bad as each other. Can anyone recommend nappies that are better for tiny babies, or does anyone have any tips to stop this happening all the time?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Huggies?
Oh and congrats on your little bundle.0 -
When my premmies were tiny I used to fold a pleat across the front of the nappy to make it smaller before before fastening, it worked well with Huggies becuse they were thinner than all the others, it was a while ago so don't know if they still are.

When DD was born premmie (2lb 14oz) we and the hospital used Pampers Micro and never had a leak. Even when she has the squits all contents where kept in.
Only ASDA did them but I'm going back 3 years so maybe they are more widely available now.

Hey I used pampers micro nappies when my son was born prematurely. I think the size is 2-5 lbs but I used them until he was 6ish lbs in weight.
I got them in Boots they're in a small yellow pack. I know it's a tad expensive but it'll only be for a short period of time, never had a problem with them.
Congratulations on the new arrival!!0 -
I saw the tiny pampers in tesco the other day. not sure what size they were but they were smaller than size 1.0

newborn and tinies are available - but your child may need huggies.
I had one child who had to have pampers, and her sister (in nappies at the same time) had to have huggies.
It must be to do with the shape, although I never worked it out.0 -
Boots do a size 0 nappy that goes up to 6l-8bs I think.Little Person Number 4 Due March 2012
Little Person Number 3 Born Feb 2011

We used Huggies after she'd grown out of the Micro as they seemed to suit her better.

Hi OP,
I have a prem baby who was just under 2lb at birth and I used pampers micro nappies, these are available from Boots and Asda (I've not seem them anywhere else). My Daughter now weighs 4lb and I've just yesterday started her on the first size huggies nappies as she was starting to wet right through the micro nappies. We've not had any leaks yet, but I do have to fold the top down as its nearly up to her chin!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
