The AA battery aspect is what would put me off, as I've had a few cameras that took batteries in the past and all of them ate them up.. especially on the video function.. Although I suppose you could get around that with a few rechargeable batteries.

There's a reviewHere that shows some of the pictures taken with it and the quality which could be useful?

The AA battery aspect would actually be an advantage for me. I use Sanyo AA Eneloops in my flash, torch and other things. It gets a bit of a pain if you have to have a separate charger and supply of dedicated spare batteries for every item!

It can also be a pain if you forget to take the dedicated charger with you - like I did over Christmas!. If the camera I was using had taken AA's I wouldn't have had a problem... doh!

Spotted this camera in a display cabinet in Argos 2 days ago, bought it and took it on a day trip to Paris. The photo quality is great - very sharp with no shake despite taking photos off moving coach, moving boat etc. IMHO this is much better quality than a compact and right up there with much dearer DSLRs. And yet it is so easy to use. Video quality is excellent too.
Life is like a box of chocolates - drop it and the soft centres splash everywhere
