    I don't have that TV but this one;

    Great pictures & easy to use,not a smart TV but I can connect my laptop & disc drives to it.I have my surround sound running from the optical out on the TV instead of the Sky HD so the sound is excellent on them all.

    What football and films are you planning to stream, and how much are you willing to pay - do you think their cost is included in the cost of the TV? It's not!

    Yes I know some charge but many websites give free access to all football matches also many films as well which can be viewed in good quality on a lap top, the TV in question brags it can do this via the tv Bing browser, just wanted to know if anybody has done this and the results

    If it is an HD+ box you do realise you are not getting 5.1 from the Sky channels connected that way if the only connection between the Sky box and the TV is HDMI. No HD+ box outputs 5.1 over HDMI yet - 5.1 is only available from the digital optical and coax outputs.

    If you are talking EPL football matches then those websites are illegal streaming sites - constituting theft of Pay TV.

    I don't have that particular model but do have a Sony 46"

    Very much trial and error when streaming. Picture is never as good as watching a live tv broadcast but I find it acceptable. If you have ever watched Youtube or similar on a WIFI enabled TV then that is on par with the quality you can expect.

    What dave and scotsbob say. You're asking a very specific question, and I find it unlikely that the TV's web browser is great, and will NOT be as good as the one on your computer. You still haven't stated a specific website, but it sounds like illegal ones, and if they any video streaming site might use Adobe Flash or Microsoft Silverlight, which your TV may not have...

    Yep many do require adobe flash that I have viewed on the lap top ,so if the TV cant download this then agree it would be useless , grey area on illegal use of these websites many Uk companies advertise on them so they don't seem bothered ,the web is opening up all sorts of avenues also when you log onto them it dosnt say this site is illegal please switch off:)

    Another option is to connect your laptop to TV and use the TV screen to view but the quality will drop. The only way I have manged anything acceptable, especially with fast moving sports action is to decrease the screen viewing area and that kind of negates your reasons for buying the particular TV you have in mind.

    The quality won't drop if you connect it properly, it'll be exactly the same quality as on the laptop's screen, but it'll be bigger and you'll therefore see the lack of quality better. And super squashed streams are pretty crap for sport, yeah. But the BBC trial of HD streaming for F1 was actually pretty good, massive improvement with motion handling.
