Received this one in a box of cleaners and toiletries from a friend moving abroad. I'm not so choosy on shower gel scents, so I didn't mind the smell, however, the consistency of this one was thick and it seemed very artificial and shiny, almost like it had flecks of glitter in it.
I re-assigned it to be the cat's litter box cleaner, and while it was up for the job over the past few weeks, thankfully it sputtered to a final death this weekend. Probably not what the Axe marketers had in mind. :rotfl:
Next up in the cat box queue: Body Shop earth lovers apricot and basil shower gel. It's a good product but I don't like smelling like an apricot.
Woo-hoo! PRCP in action! Apologies in advance for preaching but here goes. (I'm also going to post a link to an organisation linked to victims of domestic violence, just so that you are aware, heaven forbid that I should trigger any nasty memories for anyone):-
To me the Pink Rose Candle Philosophy of giving the best to yourself rather than saving it for mythical special occasions also means NOT using products that aren't doing anything for you.
Using stuff you love makes you feel so much better doesn't it?
Especially, in my book, you should stop using "unloved" if there is something nice waiting to be used that may well go off before you get to it. The bin and landfill should be the last option for stuff you don't want, of course. Last year a lot of us supported Give and Make Up which may be new to some of you.
The Give and Make Up initiative is wonderful; it enables us to make use of unloveds and surpluses in a really positive way if we so choose.
Give and Make Up will accept anything useful in the line of toiletries and make up - basically the essentials. Hairdye is particularly welcome as it enables women to change their appearance radically. Also underwear, kids' clothing and baby products. Obviously it shouldn't be used as a dumping ground for tat; but if you would be happy for a friend to have it, they will take it.
Do click and have a look.
What about the stuff that doesn't make it to Give and Make Up? As well as cleaning round the house anything bubbly can be used to wash hands in a handwash dispenser.
Any moisturiser will be ok on your feet, just about, and just about any body lotion or cream is good for cleaning and conditioning leather inc. shoes (I used old baby lotion on my settee) Conditioner as a shaving aid has been mentioned....

57.Garnier summer body lotion- i liked the idea of this but i dont think i am going to use so i gave it to a friend who loves this stuff.

UU's
Avon Advance Techniques Colour extender treatment - This was given to me and as I ran out of hair gloss, I used this in it's place. I honestly didn't see any benefit to using this product for my fine straight hair, so I WNBA or buying at all.
I also used a L'oreal elvive shampoo sample. So what is so special about this? Why do I keep seeing people talk about this on other forums? hmmm...well not convinced, won't be buying unless it's like a £ at poundland lol

This really bugs me when I find bottles that are very nearly finished just left on the side. Both MrM and Emma think I have a problem re: buying toiletries but now don't get the MSE side of me that cuts open all the tubes and gets the very last bits out. I can't win! Think I'm gonna finish their dregs later when I shower cos it's bugging me seeing them there.
Yup, same in this house. My son is 28 and I'm STILL buying him shower gel, though tbh it's because I love picking up Original Source at bargain prices. At least I get an OS shower once a month or so.
I can't justify buying anything for myself in the OS line at the moment as there is too much to use up of other good stuff, both shampoo, conditioners and shower gels/creams.
The good thing with OS is that it's half price so regularly, not to mention putting in appearances in pound shops on a random basis.
My no spend drive has gone well though - zero non essential spend this year still.
Also I know I missed saying Happy Birthday :bdaycake: to you earlier this week, Val! Belated happies!
I did manage to remember Trudi's though - just. But belated :bdaycake: Happy Birthday again, cos you deserve it.

I hope you're all having a lovely Sunday. I put my stash listing on pause, it's already so long
I cannot believe Sisley prices! Or rather, I can't believe people spend that much on what's probably a regular basis!!
UUs
Pantene Repair & Protect Shampoo 10ml: WIBA? It was alright, nothing amazing, but Pantene is my normal cheaper option.
Pantene Repair & Protect Shampoo 10ml: WIBA? As above.
Lush Australian Igloo Scrub: WIBA? Yes, if it was available. I found it a bit harsh on first usage, then put it in an empty lidded pot to store. When I next went to use it, it had melted (weird), but it was so much easier to use, it's what I'll do (intentionally) next time I have a Lush scrub. Onto a S&G Breakfast Scrub now.
Elegant Touch Rapid Dry Spray: WIBA? Yes. None left in stash, so onto the LD drying drops I got from my secret santaNo buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60

Id I remember right Axe is the european name for lynx, I now have images of your Tom attracting every lady cat in the district lol.
If lynx is the one that advertise 'manly, use this shower get to attract all the ladies', then that is Axe. It must not have worked however, that my colleague didn't take it with him.
Mrs. Slocombe (the cat) is a grand old pensioner at 14 years old, although she appreciates the weekly box clean-out, she has no brand loyalty.
Just imagining now a Tom prowling the neighborhood though, leading a party of lady cats, all due to a litter box smelling of Axe/lynx.
P.S. Just went back to the recycle bin--this Axe was made in the US. I had to google this one. Axe was launched in France by Unilever but they could not use the Axe name in the UK or Ireland due to trademark issues so it was launched as Lynx. Go figure.0 -
I know what you mean about the skincare, I have 'Hope in a Jar' but I've relegated it to a neck cream because it smells so chemically!
I fell in love with Philosophy in New York last year, my favourite is Falling in Love but I picked up loads in the Boots sale including Snow Angel and Marshmellows for Toasting amongst others
I have a 20% off code for the website if it's any use to you?? :rotfl:
As kind as the offer is I'll pass thank you :rotfl: I have Harvest Spice and Cinnamon Buns on the go and a drawer full of Pure Grace shower gels/lotions from Xmas the year before last! Plus of course the little bottles from Boots.
I used up some of the Snow body scrub before and wasnt' too impressed. Got Emma to finish it off though.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Why do I always give in to bargains?? I've restarted listing before we go out for dinner, and feeling a little depressed
But it's the only way to really stop myself buying anything *sigh* I need a more glamorous lifestyle to suit my Dior highlighting palette & Too Faced Glitters!!
