Please can you give me some advice on the PK elasticizer - I have some and I'm not sure how to use it - do you put it on wet or dry hair? How long do you leave it on for? etc etc. Any hints and tips would be most welcome. I have short hair and don't over condition as it makes my hair go flat (it is naturally curly) so have been a bit scared to use it in case it gives me a bad hair day...
I reckon I should have another 5 UUs by the end of the month so my £1 pot is adding up nicely.
I have bobbed hair, inch or so beyond my chin, fine to medium texture, but lots of it. I have been using PK Elasticizer for about 3 years. Every 2 or 3 weeks. If in a hurry I dampen my hair by dipping fingers into water and running thro' hair, apply product using fingers to comb it through, but I stay about 1.1/2-2 ins away from roots, leave it on while I get shower stuff ready, put out clothes for the day then shampoo and condition (lightly) as normal. If more time, like today, apply in same way and then wash it out when I am ready to shower, today will be about 4 hours, they rec. using shower cap, but don't like wearing them so do not bother. I love it so much I bought 1000ml pump dispenser. When I used the sachets, I got about 2/3 applications from it even with my length hair. Hope it works for you.
Afterthought, when used it first didn't condition, but saw PK recommend doing so, it does not seem to make my hair greasy by doing so.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
 Valm!
I didn't get on with the Botanics rosewater either - it's drying because it has alcohol in it (really high up the ingredients list). I don't think they market it very honestly...
I'm using up an old bottle of Sanctuary Instant Hydrating Toner which is really gentle. It's rosewater based and isn't drying on my skin. I can also recommend Organic Surge Pure Extracts Refreshing Toner (£3.74 in Asda at the moment, I think). It's really gentle, smells lovely and doesn't have any nasties & I think it's really good value.
In the past I've mixed my own toner. I bought rose, chamomile & witchhazel hydrolat & just mix a small amount of vegetable glycerin in with whatever combination of waters my skin seems to need. You can even just use a single 'water' on its own. It's more :money: in the long run, really simple to do & you know exactly what you're putting on your skin :T (This page explains what I mean though I've not bought from them before http://www.naturallythinking.com/categories/Aromatherapy/Floral-Water-%7B47%7D-Hydrolat/?gclid=CNLr4YaMqq4CFQQKfAodFB_Y_A)
Sorry if that is to much info :rotfl: My skin went through a phase of reacting to everything so I used floral water & simple oil mixes for quite a long time.0 -
OMG, this is so not fair! Not only are you lot tempting me with delicious sounding toiletries, you're starting on the food too!
I think I might have to go and make some Scottish pancakes later on today now! Only trouble is, I'm supposed to be trying to use up some of my plain flour stash as I have more of that than SR.

I have another splutterer from last night. My No7 eye cream that I use at night is almost done. I feel it has been ages since I had an eye cream uu.
I am off to see The Artist today and I'm not too sure if I will like it. It is up for best picture Oscar and I do try to see all of the runners.

wondercollie wrote: »Somebody said GlossyBox sends the best stuff to the bloggers, and I totally agree. It launched here in Canada this month. Huge outcry. The bloggers that got complementary boxes got Essi Nail Polish and a huge sample of scented body lotion. Those of us who payed for the box never got the nailpolish (we got a shampoo sample) and a sample vial of the perfume.
The boxes were a huge disappointment to many because we lurked through the UK boxes and you guys got way better stuff than we did.tokkiandoliver wrote: »I absolutely hate how glossybox runs their business. They are constantly doing these marketing tactics that make them look horrible. I was with glossybox from day 1 and I cancelled, because I refuse to support a company that does this kind of underhanded manuveuring. We aren't stupid, but they think we are.
the only good thing about them is if they do an epic box that you are actually likely to get if you pay for it, there is always a half price code for it somewhere :rotfl:
i was so glad i cancelled last month and didn't have to go through the Clarins empty creams fiasco. i also like how they keep putting accidental "spoilers" on the website that people see and not a single one of those products has yet appeared in the box. someone on beauty box swops saw one claiming they are getting a DuWop gloss this month and last months website spoiler was a big eyeshadow palette and a vera wang perfume mini. all they sent was empty clarins and an alternative of a tiny vial of weleda oil to paying customers. their behaviour is shocking really. at least joliebox are just late. i can handle lateness (just!), its the unfairness of GB i hate.0 -

Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base costs £21.50 but has lasted for months and gives a good base for eyeshadow.

off out for afternoon tea using the groupon I bought before Christmas, sandwiches, scones, cake and tea then red wine and muffins which seems a bit odd:rotfl:may ask for more tea as drink in the day goes straight to my head!0 -
Hi VALM,
I'll be disconnected from virgin on 19th march and because my bills are paid a month in advance, the guy said I would get a cheque back for around £40. I'm only signing up for sky phone and broadband. At christmas time, my dad won a radio competition and gave me the winnings... An iPad and free sky tv for a year! So no paying for tv at the moment!!
Hope you find the deal you're looking for xxxx
I won Sky+HD and Sky World free for a year with the Sky Christmas Vote competition.Best win ever.:)
